When Sikh Siyasat’s websites were blocked in 2020, we had cautioned that the Indian State was paving their way for abuse of power. History tells us that to States pave way for abuse of power by initially target vulnerable sections which can be differentiated from mainstream. But once the path of abuse of power is cleared, no one is spared.
Blocking twitter accounts of “mainstream” journalists @Gagan4344 and @kamalsinghbrar makes it clear that even mainstream media outlets won’t be spared now if their reports does not fit in state’s constructed narrative.
