Tragic. This can happen to any of us. It is Luck that is protecting us from our Municipal Bodies.
They may think they can escape forever given the entrenched nexus they are part of.
One day they will have to answer to a Higher Authority.
#BREAKING: Bombay High Court sharply criticised the BMC over its resolve the issue of bad roads in Mumbai from the last 20 years.
A division bench of Justices Ajay Gadkari & Justice Kamal Khata said it's high time that the BMC must "wake up" to reality and finally put an end to the issue of bad roads and potholed roads in the city.

You chose #Jain_Jihad. Not Society Dispute. Not Common Area Concern. Jihad.
That word was not chosen accidentally. It was chosen to trigger. To provoke. To cast a peaceful community ; one whose entire religious identity is built on Ahimsa .. as an aggressor. As a threat.
Jains do not have armies. They do not have political militias. Their monks do not carry weapons — they do not even carry shoes. Using the word "Jihad" for white paint on a footpath is not criticism. It is targeted communal incitement. Now, the actual complaint — let's address it point by point.
1. "Permanent white oil paint"
This is either a factual error or a deliberate exaggeration — and given the hashtag you chose, it is worth asking which one.
The paint used on pathways is traditionally the same category of material used in whitewashing walls across India for centuries. It is water-permeable, non-toxic, and weathers off naturally within a few months without any manual removal. Look at your own photographs carefully. The existing tiles beneath the paint are completely intact. No surface has been damaged. No structure has been altered. What you are showing the world is a white strip on a footpath — not a construction, not a permanent installation, not a takeover.
2. "Religious practice forced on us by altering common space"
Let us look at what is actually in your photographs. There is a white painted strip on a walking pathway. That is all.
- No road has been blocked.
- No gate has been locked.
- No signage excludes any resident.
- No structure has been built.
- No community has been prevented from using the space.
The pathway remains fully accessible to every resident of every faith. The paint does not demand anything of you. It does not require you to follow any religious practice. It does not ask you to change your diet, your dress, your schedule, or your beliefs.
3. The practical benefits — which every resident shares
Setting aside the religious dimension entirely, this practice has real, demonstrable benefits that are available to all residents regardless of faith:
Cooler surface temperature: White surfaces reflect sunlight rather than absorbing it. In Maharashtra summers, where ground temperatures on dark surfaces can exceed 55–60°C, a white-painted walking path is measurably cooler underfoot. This benefits elderly residents, children, and anyone who walks barefoot — Jain or otherwise.
Inhibits algae and moss growth: Lime-based paint has natural antimicrobial properties. It prevents the growth of algae, moss, and slippery microorganisms on walking surfaces — making the path safer for everyone, particularly during monsoon season when wet surfaces become hazardous.
4. On being a "victim"
Victimhood is a serious claim. It deserves a serious standard. Victims of actual religious coercion face job loss, social exclusion, violence, displacement, destruction of property, and denial of basic rights. Communities across India — of many faiths — carry those wounds.
You are describing white paint on a footpath in a housing society. Calling yourself a victim of "Jain Jihad" for this does not just trivialize your own complaint — it trivializes the real suffering of genuine victims of communal violence and religious persecution. That is not a small thing.
A final word — on harmony,
Jains have lived in Maharashtra since centuries - They have funded hospitals, established educational institutions, contributed to trade, scholarship, and civic life. You responded with #Jain_Jihad and tagged a political party and a TV news channel. That tells us considerably more about the nature of this dispute than the photographs do.
Raising a legitimate housing society concern is your right. Weaponizing it with communal hashtags and media amplification is a choice..I hope you will choose differently next time.

A silent pandemic is underway in Indian cities. Far too many couples are opting to not have kids at all. It is the wrong decision. Most will regret it.
One ticket check boosted ticket sales by 40%.
Let that sink in, nearly 40% of passengers were travelling without tickets, and the same people demand world-class trains.
PS: Before asking why Railways don’t deploy more ticket-checking staff, ask this:
Why can’t people simply follow the rules?
This mindset “hum toh bina ticket travel karenge, tum aur checking badhao” isn’t governance failure, it’s civic failure.
When such a large share travels ticketless, no amount of staff will ever be enough.
ALL NINE COPS TO BE HANGED!!!
In a landmark judgement, the honourable First Additional District and Sessions Judge of Madurai, G Muthukumaran pronounced death penalty for all nine policemen in the Jeyaraj and Beniks custodial torture and death case.
Inspector S Sridhar, sub-inspectors P Ragu Ganesh & K Balakrishnan, head constables S Murugan and A Samidurai and constables M Muthuraja, S Veil Muthu, S Chelladurai & X Thomas Francis have all been found guilty of the double murder.
On 19th June 2020, Jeyaraj went to his son’s mobile shop in at Sathankulam in Thoothukudi. Police arrested him for violating Covid rules.
Following the father’s arrest, Beniks went to the police station and requested for his father’s release. Beniks apparently had an argument with the cops. They arrested him also and tortured him and his father through the night and later sent to judicial remand.
Beniks died at Kovilapatti Government Hospital on 22nd June, 2020, and Jeyaraj passed away the next day.
The investigation later revealed that the mobile shop wasn’t open beyond the permissible hours. Basically a false case was slapped.
Later, a female constable, Revathi came forward to tell the truth of their torture. Not only were the son & the father beaten brutally throughout the night but were also made to clean up their blood off the police station floor and walls with their clothes.
Beniks sustained 13 external injuries and Jeyaraj had 17 wounds that ultimately led to their deaths. They were bleeding from their rectums when they were sent to jail!!!
Following a huge social media uproar and protests, there was pressure on the then Tamil Nadu government to conduct a fair investigation into their deaths.
If you go through the whole case, you will realise that 59 year old Jeyraj and 31 year old Beniks were killed purely because the ego of the policemen was hurt.
They were angry that Beniks questioned why his father was arrested and being beaten up.
Family of the victims hope this will be a lesson to all policemen who think they can get away with any crime.
But unfortunately in our country most police don’t play by the rules. It is either their ego or orders from above or corruption that drives them. Hoping for better policing and a system that stands for victims, especially the voiceless ones.

This post is for your parents; others can ignore.
You will be surprised to know that the maximum deaths after 60s happen because of 'fall'. Around 456 deaths per day.
And the topmost reason is loss of power and strength also known as sarcopenia and the other is the loss of balance. Ask any orthopaedic in your network how many cases they come across daily of hip fractures, head injuries and similar issues because of 'fall accidents'.
And only two things can make them strong for the later stages of life - Exercise and high protein intake.
Please I request you, from today ask your parents to do box squats, some RDLs, calf raises, Balance drills and other similar exercises to make them strong. If you can afford it, hire a driver and send them to gym every day or buy some aroleap machine for home or maybe get an online coach who can help them work out consistently.
And I know many of your parents are vegetarians, please order some high protein paneer at home and add in their diet. Don't listen to these uneducated illiterate trollers on social media who speak against protein, force your parents to eat upto 90-120g protein daily. If they are non vegetarians make sure they start their day with eggs. Your parents don't need that random methi ka laddu to start their day, they need real food like besan chilla with grated low fat paneer or an omelette.

@AirIndiaX, today one of your pilots, Capt. Virender Sejwal, assaulted me physically at T1, Delhi Airport.
Here are the facts of the matter,:
🔸 Me & my family were guided to use the security check that the staff uses (also the PRM check), because we had a 4 month old baby in a stroller.
🔸 The staff was cutting the queue ahead of me. On calling them out, Capt. Virender, who himself was doing the same thing, asked me if I was anpadh (uneducated), and couldn't read the signs that said this entry was for staff.
🔸 A verbal scuffle broke out.
🔸 Not able to excercise restraint, the AIX pilot proceeded to physically assault me, leaving me bloody. The blood in the photograph (first comment) on his shirt is also mine.
Here are my issues with the whole thing:
🔹 My holiday is ruined. The first thing I have done here is see a doctor.
🔹 My 7 year old daughter, who saw her father get assaulted brutally, is still traumatized & scared.
🔹 I have no clue how @DGCAIndia & @AirIndiaX can allow such pilots to fly. If they can't keep their cool in a scuffle, can they be trusted with the lives of hundreds of people in the sky?
🔹 How can @DelhiAirport get away with such mismanagement, combining staff entry with passengers carrying infants, creating chaos at a sensitive security area? I thought Airports were safe places!
🔹 I was forced to write a letter stating that I will not pursue this matter further ... It was either write that letter, or miss my flight and throw the 1.2 lakhs holiday bookings down the drain. @DelhiPolice, why can't I file a complaint after coming back? Must I sacrifice my money too, to seek justice? Will the CCTV footage disappear in the 2 days till I make it back to Delhi?
To my friends & well wishers, I am pretty shaken, but nothing permanent. Can't say the same about my daughter though. 😢
@fitwithsmruti Enrolling with @fitwithsmruti has been our best "investment" decision - which has not only helped Meha, but almost all in our family have implemented the learnings from her & @thepfcclub in our daily routine. And the fun part - as Smruti says - "it's not dieting"
Meet Meha Doshi, 39 yrs old, a mom of two.
Her husband found my work here on Twitter and connected us.
On our very first call, she asked:
“I'm a vegetarian… can I still lose fat? I don’t want supplements… is that okay? And can I lose fat from my face?”
3 months later, here we are 👇
10.5 kg down, 5 inches off her waist, 18 inches overall.
A size smaller, improved blood markers, and a more confident version of herself.
