Joint Parliamentary Committee for the Waqf (Amendment), chaired by Mr. Jagdambika Pal held a meeting yesterday in Delhi. Committee heard the views of several stakeholders, including prominent Supreme Court advocates Mr. Vishnu Shankar Jain and Mr. Ashwini Upadhyay, the chief priest of Shri Kalaram Temple, Mahant Shri Sudhirdas Maharaj, Advocate Amita Sachdev from the Hindu Jagruti Samiti, national spokespersons of the Sanatan Sanstha, Mr. Chetan Rajhans and Abhay Vartak, former chairman of the Karnataka Minority Commission, Mr. Anwar Manipaddy, and representatives from Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. Many issues emerged from the discussions in this meeting. The meeting was held in the presence of the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Ministry of Law and Justice.
