I was fortunate enough last year to receive a general surgery prelim spot here in El Paso, and now I’m thrilled to say that I’ll be sticking around to finish my training as a categorical! #GenSurgMatch2022
@sionedkay The number of times I’ve been consulted for disimpaction the last two weeks has actually been comical. I’ve even gotten “well we didn’t know if it was safe to do a DRE, so we thought y’all should do it” like I have different fingers or something
What a year it’s been! Intern year is coming to an end and I’m looking forward to what PGY2 will bring. Also excited to receive the intern of the year award this year! 🥰 #gensurg#residency
TTUHSC-EP med students graduate today and I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic and also mind blown at how fast this year went. Only 6 more weeks as an intern 🥹
1. Who would’ve thought buying a house would be almost as hard as getting into residency.
2. Why do so many people want to move to El Paso apparently right now?! 🫠
#Scramble2021 ➡️ PGY1 Prelim ➡️ #GenSurgMatch2022 ➡️ Surprise categorical PGY2 position 🎉
I’ve said it before, but I’m still a believer that everything happens for a reason!
@sionedkay Greenfields! It’s an easy read (compared to others) and recommended for us for 1st and 2nd year. Then Cameron’s after you finish that one. Or the blue icu book and the vent book if you do SICU. Or zollinger’s atlas.
My diet has regressed more and more throughout intern year to that of a small child’s. Uncrustables, velveeta mac n cheese, chicken nuggets. Anything quick when I get home or can eat in between patients 😅
