On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) 2025, PATH President and CEO Nikolaj Gilbert met with Dr. Ouma Oluga, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Medical Services, to review and strengthen the longstanding partnership between PATH and the Government of Kenya.
The discussions built on nearly 30 years of collaboration, with focus on expanding joint efforts in health workforce development, vaccine manufacturing technology transfer, and local production of essential health products. These areas are seen as critical to advancing Kenyaβs health system transformation and ensuring better outcomes for citizens.
Dr. Oluga reaffirmed the governmentβs commitment to sustainable health solutions rooted in local innovation and manufacturing capacity. Mr. Gilbert praised Kenyaβs leadership in driving reforms and highlighted PATHβs role in providing technical expertise and facilitating knowledge exchange to accelerate progress.
Mr. Gilbert was joined by Dr. Nanthalile Mugala (Chief of Africa Region), Caroline Moor Larson (Head of Operations, Office of the President), and Carolyne Njuguna (Director of the East Africa Hub).
