The “dawn to dusk” rule for trails totally negates their use as transportation infrastructure. If TxDOT closes it “at night” that will force people to take a likely unsafe detour during the least safe time of day. We must require a detour as safe as the bayou trail.

@19th_c_Houston Bayous & freeways cut up the street grid like crazy, and traffic still works.

Bus lanes on Montrose Blvd are still a good idea, and can still happen after the street rebuild.

@19th_c_Houston Yes, I totally agree with this. And while severing certain links in the traffic network would create uncomfortable bottlenecks... could it be worse than the 3-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou btwn Shepherd and 610-W that has NO crossings?
