True players have backed Allen? These poor kids are talking off a script supplied by the Eagles PR department. They sound worse than a corporate CEO trying to spin a bad profit result
@AmericansFooty@rtralphy It’s true players have backed Allen. For them it’s a non issue. What’s not true is the board/club asked him to stand down or approached him with that.
@FootyRhino@WestCoastEagles It might be the way things are done in footy, but discretion and tact is required. Mitchell using his early bye (created by Hawthorn’s special status) to fly to Perth to schmooze a battling Eagles captain was always going to cause a sh^*storm. Nice work Sam. So long Oscar
@Olly_Tennis_ That’s not an apology, it’s the sort of self-justifying rambling you get from a footballer who’s just been caught doing sumfink silly. His first two chants had no basis in fact and the third one was just plain stupid
@ByElizaReilly It ain’t bad but it’s pretty said that WA produced about one-eighth of the draft pics despite having just under one-quarter of the population of AFL states. WA football and the WAFC need shaking-up
“I don’t think there will be a West Australian legitimately drafted this year – that’s how bad WA is at the moment. It’s the worst year for talent they’ve ever seen."
One unnamed recruiting expert in May.
Eight Sandgropers later and the rookie draft to come. Eat your hat.
@EmmaGarlett Your brilliant Paint it Blak column this morning on the importance of truth telling had me tearing up. The old bloke telling me about family members shot and him being stolen inland from Derby (circa 1915) are burnt in my brain.

Is lone news hack incessantly asking the high-profile chair of an important public company questions in a public place harassment? Does it justify dropping the shoulder? I don’t ask these questions rhetorically
@withMEAA What gives anyone the right to harass people going about their business, I’m guessing the harassment went for even longer than the film release shows.
@withMEAA Journalist’s asking questions are acceptable when the person being asked wishes to answer those questions. In this case the journalist impeded Costello’s path; all Costello did was to proceed. It was incumbent on the journalist to move out of the way. Respect is a two way street.
@withMEAA As a professional pest, I hope Costello is charged so we can legally test discover whether a boofhead has a legal defence to assault when dropping the shoulder into a pesky journo/camo/snapper
@withMEAA Is @abcnews shafting @antoinette_news and not telling Lawyers for Israel to fxxx off really worthy of #NoFearNoFavour campaign. Maybe check her TikTok videos going back to nine days after Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack thru to her effort accompanying the Crikey yarn
It’s time to make a stand for the truth and for journalism without fear or favour. #NoFearNoFavour
The public’s right to know is diminished when journalists are unable to provide factual information accurately, fairly and transparently because they fear retribution from their employers to appease external critics.
Right now in Australia, truth-telling and journalism without fear or favour is being compromised by media bosses punishing journalists for daring to discuss the issues of our times: human rights, climate change, the war in Gaza.
This has a chilling effect on other journalists that they too may be punished for stepping out of line, forcing them to compromise on their duty to the public to report the truth without fear or favour. #PressFreedom #MEAAmedia
@PercyKaren@antoinette_news@withMEAA Explanation filed. I look forward to Fair Work interpreting ABC's directive for Lattouf to not post anything 'controversial' and her then pointing to a published report on a contentious topic . Interesting time

@withMEAA I'm on #MEAAmedia National Media Section committee and I was not given word about this #NoFearNoFavour campaign. We must carefully consider our position on covering the latest Middle East horrors, not make sweeping claims and pre-try cases like @antoinnette_news
It’s simple. Sandpapergate bosses Warner and Smith were forgiven because they’re part of CA’s Sydney ruling elite. Bancroft is a just another gimp from the wrong side of Oz
West Australian cricket fans and former players aren’t buying national selector George Bailey’s reasoning for not selecting Cam Bancroft.

@PercyKaren It is terrible. I’m struggling from the reporting to understand what is happening, let alone who is/are to blame for these deaths. The IDF claims they were travelling with a Hamas drone operator https://t.co/s2q3P00kOt
Despite recent claims in emails circulated by @withMEAA staff, this remains the union's official position on the terrible recent events in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
MEAA is appalled at the outbreak of violence unfolding across Israel, Palestine and the region.
Our union joins the calls for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further escalation and any further loss of human life.

If Carey’s action was bad, the poor Jonny B’s was worse because of the delay before he pulled his trick. But both were skilled keepers doing their job against dozy batters
