@cptdankkk The best part is that there is almost no way to spend $25k on a meal in GB without 200+ people ππ€£...and the take home tray idea was clutch
The reason these attempts at snark from childless people donβt really work is that every person who has children was also at some point childless, so there is an experience asymmetry. Iβve been you, but you havenβt been me.
@csipping@KatieMiller You can't resolve a relational problem by yourself. If one party is unwilling to acknowledge issues or make changes you won't "recover" either. You can definitely walk away from blood.
@JaneShelley89@KatieMiller She is allowed to be hurt. Why would that be in quotes? Why shouldn't you discuss a decision you made that she feels offended or personally impacted by?
@ostensiblygay@useyourcommoneh@buttonslives Therapists help people identify patterns that may not be working well for them and if the client wants, work towards changes. Therapists aren't responsible for the narrative clients walk thru the door with, nor is it their job to decide if that's to change.
@ostensiblygay@useyourcommoneh@buttonslives Therapists don't get to excuse behavior. Individuals behave however they want. A healthy therapeutic relationship is utilizing tools to assist someone in meeting their identified goals. Therapists don't choose those, clients do.
@SteveLeitz@buttonslives I'm a part of the problem? I would ask how, but I've heard enough of your overgeneralizing and minimizing to take your opinion seriously. I never said trauma hasnt been taken out of context for some. You are downplaying real trauma victims and the care they need. βοΈβοΈ
@SteveLeitz@buttonslives Google doesn't count as homework. I actually have the credentials and work in the field. Trauma & discomfort are obviously very different, but people with trauma can very much benefit from a trauma informed lens and if that makes you cringe, you should probably sit this one out.
Therapy has become incredibly dangerous for societal bonds.
In a new study, 1/3 of parents believe their child wonβt speak to them because of a therapistβs influence.
This is how countries weaken and fall apart.
Rome didnβt fall primarily because of barbarians at the gates. It fell because loyalty, duty, bonds, and the birth rate collapsed. When the Romans lost the traditional family, its societal structure that fostered mutual support fell.
Therapists are creating a mental health crisis by actively encouraging patients to cut off their families.
When communities are no longer connected, they become unrecognizable to their people.
@ostensiblygay@buttonslives Estrangement isnt the go to suggestion, boundaries are. People decide for themselves what that looks like. How would estrangement which often comes with grief make therapy easier to provide?
