@BobbyKW@DerrickEvans4WV If you got rid of interest on student loans then no one would offer student loans. The interest is WHY lenders offer the loans. If they can’t make interest, they have no reason to be in the business. Your problem is that you don’t understand loans.
@MsMorton1214@DerrickEvans4WV Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it ... he who doesn't ... pays it.

@BhattiLaib9960 How did the driver indicate to you that they were “upset”? I’m just curious, because I used to deliver for Uber Eats and there was really no way in the app to communicate such things with the customer. Also, nobody tips as high as that on any order. I’d have been ecstatic.
@iluminatibot No, that’s what happens when you pay less per month than the interest you’ve accrued that month. Usury is when you charge more interest than is legal.
@TheEXECUTlONER_@EastTexan@kittenaround_51 I believe there are some that don’t, but there are other problems, like what happens when the jack rusts out and decays, or more importantly, how to distribute the support across the whole sidewalk, since using a jack will only support it at the jack point.
@philosophymeme0 False. You can be counterculture in some respects and not others. Cultures are complex and nuanced. Every culture has positive and negative aspects, so there will be aspects a person supports and aspects they oppose. Stop treating cultures like a monoliths.
@jeremyct Yes, we did struggle like this. While things weren’t as expensive, we also had less income. You keep using the “everything costs more” argument without including the fact that people make more now.
@MatrixMysteries Hospitals charge a fortune for services like these because they need the extra revenue to support services that they have to run at a loss, like emergency rooms.
@MatrixMysteries They won’t let you self-pay at the hospital because they take a loss on self-pay. It’s charity for people without insurance, and their self-pay price probably won’t be anywhere near as low as the $700 you were quoted at the other place, which, I’m guessing, wasn’t a hospital. 👇
