An established team of Healthcare professionals experienced & passionate about helping individuals & their families to manage & overcome their eating disorder.
"How does our environment shape our mental health".
The members of the NEDRC who attended really enjoyed the conference and look forward to discussing with the wider team at group reflection.

Excellent SWAMH (Social Work Adult Mental Health) conference held by the IASW(Irish Association of Social Workers) yesterday.
Some really interesting topics and areas of interest held closely by the team at NEDRC.
"Systemic healing & dismantling the social barriers to recovery",
Honored to provide eating disorder treatment programmes to Laya Healthcare members alongside our other insurers- VHI, Irish Life, Garda Medical Aid & Prison Officers Medical Aid Society.
@dunnesstores while i understand the need for scan receipts for exit barriers, having them & till areas not wide enough to fit a wheelchair is mortifying when the alarms go off & slam shut. Everyone turning to look at me and your staff ignoring me

The Mental Health Commission of Ireland 2025 unannounced inspection of NEDRC resulted in 100% compliance with regulations. While this is important and we are proud of our exceptional team, what is REALLY important to us is our delivery of care, treatment and client outcomes.
We are so proud of our clients, their efforts, work, vulnerability, willingness (once they get to know us โบ๏ธ), strengths and trust (sometimes, initially, blind trust), they show up with each day.
As much as an eating disorder can be "stubborn", we are too and we don't give up ๐
Utterly shocking to say the least. This cut hugely affects autistic students. Thank you to @GarNob for bringing this to people's attention as it was undhandedly brought in. @Education_Ire
Absolutely disgraceful reforms to special needs assistant support announced by the department of education.
Sneaked in via circular without any parliamentary debate. Going forward no SNA support for children requiring emotional regulation or social skills. Will put massive pressure on schools will see more reduced timetables and exclusions. @HMcEntee needs to urgently step in and sort this out.
Take your time. Be patient with yourself. Work within your own comfort level and energy level.
See if you find any of these guided questions helpful?
1. If I could give my body a gift what would it be? (Something sensational- e.g. a warm bath, a nature walk at the park, massage?
However, it is a complex process, as many of these behaviours have served a purpose, have (in ways) been helpful, initially.
Having a team that understands the concerns, issues & realities around body image and that have experience and training in this fundamental area is vital
We are grateful to the Mental Health Commission of Ireland (MHC) for their new resource released yesterday "Guidance for Staff working in Mental Health Services on the Care and Treatment of LGBTQIA+ People".

We are aware of the barriers and inequalities people from the LGBTQIA+ community face and are hopeful this resource will help bring about awareness and change in mental healthcare provided to the community.
