"Misbah ! Hum Sharminda Hai !!
Masoom Ankho Wali Gudiya !
Hum Tujhse Sharminda Hai ,
'MAA' Teri To Roz Maregi
Jab Tak Tere Qaatil Zinda Hai"
Such crimes are increasing due to the impunity of criminals, Misbah's killer should be hanged

#DeafPedagogy Friday
Deaf people are not "hearing people who can't hear."
There are social, cultural, biological, and psychological differences that matter. These differences must be accommodated for in pedagogy, curriculum, assessment if they are to positively affect learning.
Think about an infant’s brain like a bank account. Language input is like depositing money into their account. It doesn’t matter how you deposit the money (which language), it all adds to the total value of the account. 1/
Again today: 'It's not disabled, it's differently-abled.'
Can we not do this? Can we not keep trying to school disabled people on their language? I'm disabled. It is accurate. Disability has meaning. We don't need euphemisms because it isn't shameful.
Attended a webinar on “Disability Inclusion in Schools”. The irony- they neither provided captions nor a sign langauge interpreter. Can we request them to acknowledge the accessibility requirement & provide it? @MSJEGOI@EduMinOfIndia@ncert@access_anjlee@NITIAayog@UNinIndia
@IslrtcOfficial @socialpwds Too many finger spellings! When the experts in ISLRTC themselves have failed in displaying appropriate visual signs for words like side effects, symptoms etc. (So much that they had to fingerspell) how do they expect laymen Deaf to understand!?!?
Radical centrism in deaf/disability worlds is basically hearing/abled people telling deaf/disabled folks that unless deaf/disabled folks are kind to their oppressors, then their oppressors will continue oppressing.
thrilled to see @DharmaMovies produced a story about #signlanguage however found out that the person who taught sign language to the actors is hearing - Sitaram Charvan which was not right. We have 200 certified Deaf ISL experts in india. Hire one of them!#Culturalappropriation
It’s important that we stay vigilant and continue to follow safety protocols. Remember to stay six feet away from any professional who recommends against a signed language for your Deaf child.
“It is possible to identify with a language that one does not know. It is possible to have a mother tongue that one does not have (any or ‘full’) competence in.” -Tove Skutnabb-Kangas
Roses are red 🌹
Azaleas are pink 🌸
Deaf kids are hearing
Less than you think
So if you want them
To have great success
Give them a language
They can fully access 🤟🏼
@jaivirdi@jmhenner I have seen places where getting access is considered 'luck' and not 'right', even though those very people preach the importance of accessibility to the world!!!!
