If the Great Clock of Westminster was showing the wrong time, then there would have been questions asked in the house. Literally.
But of course, this photo was taken at ten past four this afternoon.
Verdict: not neglected
Bundle up, the Cold Moon is rising! βοΈπ
Decemberβs full moon will rise in the night sky tomorrow, Dec. 4. It will mark the last supermoon and full moon of the year.
Quick shout out to the Feldy Community Centre (aka 'Feldy), on the Aberfeldy Estate, east London
This photo was taken at five to three by one of our investigators
We love to see a new public clock, and especially one that displays the correct time
Verdict: Not Neglected
@NeglectedClocks The clock is an unusual mechanism with one movement operating four faces. Unfortunately, the mechanism is covered in a thick layer of pigeon droppings and there wasn't the budget to restore the clock in the 2010 refurbishment.
@NeglectedClocks Not sure what kind of relationship RBG has with the guardians of our main tourist attractions but a harmonious partnership would be in the interest of all. Btw. The clock on the tall tower by the library is working thanks to Maureen OβMara, retired cllr but still very committed.
@BELLEGREENWICH Thereβs so much pseudo public space now, what used to be amenities are now for-profit. I know councils are squeezed financially and struggle to even carry out their statutory duties, but I think there is also a pro-profit, pro-private sector mindset that exacerbates the situation
Jago Hazzard is the de facto voice of all things British railway and public transport, so his video explaining the background to railway timekeeping and the 'fancy new clock at London Bridge' is the definitive exposition on the subject
