@NeglectedClocks The clock is an unusual mechanism with one movement operating four faces. Unfortunately, the mechanism is covered in a thick layer of pigeon droppings and there wasn't the budget to restore the clock in the 2010 refurbishment.

@BELLEGREENWICH There’s so much pseudo public space now, what used to be amenities are now for-profit. I know councils are squeezed financially and struggle to even carry out their statutory duties, but I think there is also a pro-profit, pro-private sector mindset that exacerbates the situation
