The proposed psychological model of tension:
- Some event introduces tension.
- You generate a number of different predictions for its resolution.
- The amount of tension is relative to the difference between the best and worst predicted outcomes.

It includes a review of recent/important generative models for music and audio synthesis: https://t.co/3B4tAcxUbm

fveld is a music label "releasing interactive, generative, location-based, and all other types of non-linear works". We created a generative music player for Living Drone; composed pieces connected by living interludes, newly generated each play. https://t.co/EB4Yd3JapP
What purveyors of AI generated media tend to conveniently ignore and omit: A wealth of generated media creates a poverty of attention, in audiences with already heavily oversaturated minds.
Introducing the Nendo AI Audio Platform that unleashes the power of sonic intelligence & generation for professionals. State of the art features, fully open source, available today as a service. More in this 🧵
Thanks @_akhaliq for promoting our work! We propose Searchformer, a Transformer that imitate-learns A* search dynamics (i.e., how the search is performed), and can be fine-tuned to still output optimal plans ~94% of the time, but with ~27% shorter search dynamics in Sokoban, essentially learning a better search algorithm than A* 😀.
The authors speculate that maybe the prevalence of pop music in sleep playlists is related to predictive coding: might we enjoy the soothing effect of our brain being able to precisely predict music that's familiar to us?
