@CassandrasFate @atrupar Surly you are not so naive. Iran's stated goal is the destruction of Israel as well as the US and they can deliver a missle to Europe. Believe them when they say these things. We don't want anyone using nukes. Iran can't have a nuclear bomb to hold the world hostage.

Stopping Iran from having a nuke is great for Israel and the whole Middle East as well as the US.
The Iranians would certainly use it to hold the world hostage and use it on Jerusalem and, well, pick the US city

On this day in 1776, South Carolina Regulars and Militia commanded by Colonel William Moultrie successfully defended the unfinished palmetto log fort, then known as Fort Sullivan, against the British fleet. They were successful in repelling the fleet, due in large part to the sponginess of the palmetto log walls absorbing the British cannonballs rather than splintering. The crescent flag first flew over Fort Moultrie during the battle, at one point being heroically raised by Sgt William Jasper, after falling to cannon shot. This battle cemented South Carolina's reputation as the Palmetto State. Although SC declared its independence in March of 1776, this day is widely celebrated as South Carolina's Independence Day. The rest of the colonies would follow suit a week later, on July 4th.
