@dru_jlh https://t.co/qLjk67U3Fn - Point 8 of the NHS plan in link explicitly states that trusts should have a system in place to reimburse residents within 4-6 weeks. They have 12 weeks to show progress. Although unfortunately no real mention of what happens when trusts can’t meet this
@doctimcook@Anaes_Journal Great work. Do you think results swayed by experience of participants already used to stylet set up? Key to success I think is training and keeping use up - ready to go for when you really need it. Also surprised the first-pass standard bougie rate is so low for easier setup!
What contributes to resident anaesthetists' stress?
• clinical and non-clinical work
• structure of training
• workplace culture
• frequent rotations
• long commutes
• curriculum changes
• examinations
• competition for higher training posts

Luckily Parkrun life threatening events are rare but “cardiac arrest survival rate is approximately six times better at Parkrun than reported out-of-hospital survival rates” according to this 2021 report - https://t.co/YXFLFFsKqI
Incredible effort by everyone involved here. A great advert for early CPR and defibrillation saving lives. And thank you to all #Parkrun volunteers that check defibs up and down the country every Saturday/Sunday morning! @ResusCouncilUK
Very grateful for @godfrey_esther taking the time to speak to us at our regional post fellowship study day last week. An incredibly important project - looking forward to publications / communication tools coming to theatre soon 🤞🏽. Thank you!
A busy week! Thank you so much on behalf of The SuPPORT Project. Sharing at Bristol’s Post Fellowship Study Day, Tuesday & at #JAW2024 today, Juno’s story & exciting project developments… November will bring a NovPod episode #AnaesthesiaOnAir & British Intrapartum Conference!
275 women died in the UK during pregnancy or up to six weeks after the end of pregnancy in 2020-2022 from causes related to or exacerbated by pregnancy among 2,028,543 women giving birth, a maternal mortality rate of 13.56 per 100,000 https://t.co/fFx5yHMOyk
@adk300@_sophiewinter_ Agreed. Great slide and paper. Every college tutor and educational supervisor needs to be aware of this list. Not to make us do less - but to ensure trainees have the support they need in each of those points
Having an epidural during labour is associated with a marked reduction in serious complications in the first few weeks after giving birth, finds new study @rjharrison79 https://t.co/zY8sAijq2a
CoMMA is back with an obstetric anaesthesia updates day…!
17th June, GRH. We have a range of great internal and external speakers, a trainee prize for oral/ poster presentation which is great for the CV (please send abstracts by 1st June!)
@morefluids Neonatal resuscitation is still the worst I have ever felt in theatre. I can’t imagine what the parents must go through. An excellent idea for a project
@DrLKVaughan@gmcuk Such an odd statement by a regulator. Vague and without clear proposals or timeline or evidence base that I can see. A sort of smoke signal of a future that could be read all sorts of different ways. Is the GMC trying to make doctors so angry they leave the UK?
