We found some misconduct is seen as more remediable; remediation is used as a proxy for insight; and engagement with remediation informs impairment decisions. We suggest need for insight-focused remediation, and regulatory remediation may differ from educational in aims and form.

Whilst I've been away, the GDC has published #FitnessToPractise data which will surprise absolutely nobody who works in this field in showing that dentists overrepresented in FtP proceedings are "male, with an ethnicity category other than white, holding a qualification gained outside the UK"
