🏌🏻🇨🇦 Sport tourism drives real economic results — and the RBC Canadian Open is a perfect example.
Enjoyed a fantastic conversation at the @Empire_Club with @MsChrisSimpson, @CDNOlympicFDN CEO @JacquieRyan1, and @GolfCanada's Laurence Applebaum about what this iconic event means for Ontario. Niagara Region is a perfect example — the 2022 Canada Summer Games generated $312 million in economic activity, welcomed thousands of athletes, and left behind Canada Games Park, which continues to host major competitions like last year’s 2025 Ontario Parasport Games. The legacy of great sporting events lives on long after the closing ceremony.
⚽️ The new Centennial Park Training Facility will welcome some of the world's best athletes during FIFA World Cup 2026 — but its impact will be felt far beyond the event itself.
By investing in world-class infrastructure, we're strengthening Ontario's ability to host major international competitions and leaving a legacy that local athletes and residents will benefit from for years to come.
