@_Lorna_Brown@SuperLeague Great work - love this.
What's the impact of a single game here on the %? For e.g. round 27 Salford played their reserves - what was there % across the first 26 rounds? Wire did similar in round 13.
3 drivers: 1) league position (e.g. Hull, Cas); 2) squad size/spend; 3) injuries
There’s been some incoherent rambles against grading (and a few well put ones too), but this thread has just taken top spot. If any can find logic here, please share 😂
@21luckyforsome@casrugbyshirts Personally speaking, I’ve consistently said that the system rewards mediocrity in the likes of Wigan/Saints as it places no burden on them to improve further and maintain higher standards. If it did, I think you’d have a different scoring system and it would be harder to attain A
@Pleyndamour What happens to a team that keeps underperform. Lost crowds, lost sponsors, less money, less investment, etc. All will see point lost & eventually grades. And if it doesn't, then they are the type of strong club that we'd want in SL, no? Does it help RL if no Leeds & Wigan in SL?
@Pleyndamour You've fundamentally missed the point, which is that the theory (right or wrong) is the problem lies in the lower clubs in SL.
Regardless, your whole argument is based on the assumption that the aim is to be in SL. For the top clubs, that's not the goal - it's to win the comp.
@Fatboy_Rob Could. It’s doing so much lifting in this as to make the point redundant though Rob. Honestly, I have absolutely no problem with a team finishing bottom not being relegated if they meet the required standard.
@Pleyndamour How? There’s lots of areas they can. The logic of why (which I guess is what you’re really after?) is obvious really: it makes them more likely to win trophies, which is the main aim of any ambitious club. You think finishing bottom 3 years is row doesn’t matter? Again, illogical
@TrylineUK The NRL wouldn’t have that. They think the best two (17?) teams are in their comp, so they couldn’t market this at their event, wrong as they are.
"You don’t become a fan by celebrating success. Every true fandom is forged in the fire of heartbreak. We had seen our fair share. We had lived through the fallow years. We had come close before."

@Fredbat@AaronBower@BrianDavies12 That was a looong time ago now, but I thought it spoke about expansion of number of teams once the first 12 got to grade A.
Joking aside, I expect we'll see 8-9 grade A this time. I think we'll see a bit of movement between teams 10-14 for a few seasons yet.
@ACrossHammer@mikelavelle93 If Litten can't get more than 20 minutes ahead of Parcell, it makes sense that he gets zero minutes behind Walker & Clark
The contradiction here with the Vaughan ruling is stark. “Incidents of this nature need to be reviewed on an individual basis and determined accordingly.” If only they'd been this pragmatic, and receptive to letters of support 12 months ago!
Fascinating details have emerged on how Peta Hiku's controversial charge for an incident in the Super League Grand Final was dropped. https://t.co/7Zjv9ELMuY
