@FedCourtApp_en quashes #PMPRB Alexion decision as unreasoned, unreasonable, and beyond its mandate. Ramifications extend well beyond this case to the appropriateness, legality and constitutionality of PMPRB’s new Guidelines. https://t.co/FtKUx5FC17
#PMPRB “appropriate response” for delayed Regulations is significantly more punitive price guideline for on-market drugs. No rationale, no supporting analyses, no #HESA oversight possible in dog-days of summer prior to election. Consultation closes Aug15. https://t.co/HQKXJFfdBu
Prelim analysis suggests draft @PMPRB_CEPMB Guidelines to cost pharma manufacturers ~$3.5B annually beginning 2021. Greater impact in future years as list prices for new medicines approach lowest international price and some rebated net prices forced even lower. @PDCImktaccess

It's not just Canada's pharma industry - no one in Canada want's this - no benefits - just threats of higher prices, drug shortages and delayed access to innovative new drugs.
In another warning sign for HHS' drug import plan, Canada's pharma industry wants the country to act early to on any plan before a shortage could arise, according to Reuters https://t.co/3vmpnrzQIM
@NASHPhealth Why would Canada play ball? No upside for Canada - only potential for higher prices, drug shortages and no new innovative drugs if there is any risk they will cross border.
@GinettePT@HHSGov A firm, unequivocal "No!" is required from Canadian gov't - no benefit to Canada, only threats: higher prices, drug shortages but most importantly: innovative new drugs will not come to Canada if there is any risk of @HHSGov#ImportfromCanada
@lurvejennifer @Easterngirl77 @lastchance4usa@JimmyTheRip@SecAzar And drug makers will seek to remove price differentials between the countries by raising prices in Canada (if they can) or by not selling the drug in Canada at all. There is no upside to Canada, just threats to the drug supply and increased drug costs.
@lurvejennifer @Easterngirl77 @lastchance4usa@JimmyTheRip@SecAzar Many drugs sold in Canada are manufactured in the US and then sent to Canada in sufficient quantities to supply the Canadian market (10% of US). If they are sent back to the US there would be shortages in Canada (but not enough to supply the US in a meaningful way).
@SecAzar And ironic that the press release touts the potential to import lower cost #insulin which as biologic products would not be eligible for importation (as laid out in the action plan) https://t.co/tEe8IVZv8h
@SecAzar Proposed US prescription drug #importation action plan is both impractical and very bad for #Canada: threat of higher drug prices, drug shortages and delayed (or no) access to important new drugs for Canadians. https://t.co/gvYqi5sY4P
Thank you to everyone wearing plaid today #PlaidforDad and supporting @ProstateCancerC. If detected early, survival is close to 100%; but too many men are still diagnosed late, risking advanced, metastatic disease and death - so 50+ men, please see your doctor & get tested.
Proud to have participated in the @ProstateCancerC grant review panel for accelerated translation of predictive markers. $4M in research funding to support Canadian scientists improve diagnosis and treatment of #ProstateCancer!
Thank you CORD @raredisorders for inviting me to present on National #Pharmacare - a great discussion - all Canadians should have comprehensive prescription drug coverage & timely access to drugs for #rarediseases https://t.co/JhNRurQMf7
PMPRB price control regime was never tied to R&D expenditures – yet that myth is the rationale for proposed punitive price regulations & guidelines. Setting the record straight: https://t.co/UYfpyQoZse #PMPRB#CdnHealth
Proposed @PMPRB_CEPMB Regs/RIAS willfully ignore 2016 pricing data available to #PMPRB since Feb 2017. Failure to acknowledge potential impact limiting patient access to new meds. Blog with more reaction/analysis coming soon to https://t.co/iakcbfZpMU
