So I was like, "Jesus can you show me just how far the east is from the west?" and he was like "the distance between carrying a political grudge from one tweet to another"
Eureka!!!
@Qwenia Genuinely curious: is this gratuitous insult just playing, connected to anything that I wrote about the advice I received from a colleague who has experience with ride hailing at the airport, or you’re just carrying political grudges from one tweet to another?
Tinubunomics Reforms Are Delivering Measurable Results:
Nigeria’s latest economic dashboard shows clear signs of stronger revenue mobilisation, reduced oil dependence and improving macroeconomic stability under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
FACTS:
- Tax revenue up 113% — rising from ₦12.3tn in 2023 to ₦27.1tn by July 2026.
- Tax-to-GDP ratio improved from about 10% to 13%.
- Non-oil revenue is strengthening, reaching ₦21.4tn, representing 76% of total collections in Q1 2026.
- VAT rose to ₦2.42tn, reflecting stronger domestic revenue mobilisation.
- Foreign reserves hit $51.9bn, a 17-year high.
- Oil production climbed to 1.73 million barrels per day, including condensates, moving above Nigeria’s OPEC quota.
- Four new tax laws have streamlined Nigeria’s tax system and consolidated more than 70 legacy taxes and levies.
- Digital tax administration and e-invoicing are improving collection, compliance and transparency.
- More revenue is reaching states and local governments through the revised VAT-sharing framework.
Overall, Nigeria is collecting more, depending less on oil, plugging revenue leakages and building a stronger fiscal foundation for sustainable growth.
A judge ignored the Court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal fired back.
Now, ADC and four other political parties are BACK on the 2027 ballot.
The appellate court slammed the trial judge for “the highest form of judicial impertinence,” “judicial rascality,” and “brazenly” disregarding its order.
This is one of the most extraordinary judicial showdowns in recent political history.
How State Police Bill Is Designed to Prevent Governors’ Abuse of Power
For many Nigerians, this has always been the biggest concern about State Police.
What safeguards are actually in the bill?
I break down the oversight mechanisms, intervention powers, and protections designed to prevent abuse.
Do you think they are enough?

Every day, between Monday and Friday, I research, design infographics, and create data visualizations for the biggest news story of the day as part of the 'Big Story Breakdown' segment I produce for TVC News' 10 p.m. bulletin.
Yesterday, we looked at the story, "Court Orders INEC to Deregister ADC and Four Others," and I came up with these slides.
It was another powerful edition of Big Story Breakdown on the 10pm bulletin. The job here was simple, turn complex legal and political implications into clear, visual storytelling that hits hard.
N13,000,000,000,000. Every year. That was Nigeria's fuel subsidy bill.
It built nothing. It schooled nobody. It powered no grid.
What if that ₦13trn had gone to the people it was meant for? Here is what that same money is capable of doing under this administration.

NEL'S EDITORIAL: IN SHORT
Nigeria's opposition just made its boldest move yet. At the Ibadan summit today, opposition leaders formally agreed to field a single presidential candidate in 2027. They passed a vote of no confidence in INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan and demanded his removal.
They demanded INEC extend the primary deadline from May 30 to end of July. Atiku, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and Amaechi were all in that room.
All four want the presidential ticket. All four signed the same declaration. The declaration names no candidate. Sets no timeline. Specifies no mechanism. Every previous opposition coalition in Nigeria's democratic history made the same promise and fractured before primaries. The Presidency has already fired back, calling the summit politically motivated
