Year 15.
After taking some time to reflect, I’ve realized this season was never just about basketball.
Life has a way of reminding you that nothing is promised. Every game, every conversation, every challenge, and every person you cross paths with is a gift we’re often too quick to assume will always be there.
This season taught me to stop chasing what I can’t control and to embrace what God has already placed in front of me. The victories, the disappointments, the pain, and the growth were never separate chapters. They were all part of the same story.
And of course, I’ve learned that peace doesn’t come from getting everything you want. It comes from knowing you gave everything you had and trusting God with the rest.
I’m incredibly proud of our group, from our coaches to every single player. To come together and accomplish what we did is something its something be grateful for. Of course, you always hope for a great ending of the season, but life doesn’t always unfold the way we want it to… and that’s okay.
Because God’s faithfulness isn’t determined by the outcome. His faithfulness is revealed through the journey.
The older I get, the less I measure my life by the seasons I’ve played and the more I measure it by the man God is shaping me to become.
Here’s to gratitude. Here’s to growth. Here’s to embracing every moment we’re given.
And yes… here’s to some good wine. 🍷
Super helpful tracker from @JonChep that keeps up with where all of the UDFAs are landing with Two-Way, E10 and Summer League signings:

Barack Obama on the Spurs:
“I love this young San Antonio Spurs team.. those guards, Castle Harper, I love those two. And Harper almost won the game for them the way he was playing.
And I think Wemby will end up being as good as we are projecting. I watched him at the All-Star game.. first time I’d see him live and I don’t remember somebody that big moving like that..
That team is going to have such a great future.”

And from yesterday, I talked with Tarris Reed Jr. about falling short of the NCAA championship. Like the #Spurs this season, the rookie came in second place.
He's excited about joining a group of players with a chip on their shoulder:
Quaintance is apparently a manga guy, not sure which.
Tarris Reed Jr. called himself a homebody who loves to read. He mentioned Atomic Habits, Chop Wood Carry Water, The Alchemist, Art of War.
Reed pick might seem like Spurs bizarrely taking two centers, but teams have unanimously told me they think Quaintance will need to miss time next season. SAS takes a big swing at 20 and doubles down on its biggest need — frontcourt physicality — with Reed, who helps immediately.
Tarris Reed Jr. on joining the #Spurs: “It’s a blessing. I thank The Lord for it. I didn’t even get a phone call … that was the craziest part. My connection was all (messed up).” #PorVida
Brian Wright said Spurs are comfortable w/ possibly taking a very long-term approach" w/ Quaintance.
"He's got tremendous, tremendous talent and unfortunately that was cut short a little bit due to injury. But had it not been, maybe we don't have the opportunity to draft him."
Brian Wright on the process behind making the Quaintance selection given injury situation:
“You rely on people much smarter than you that understand things medically and how we can help, and what is actually going on. And so there's a lot of analysis, there’s a lot of trust in that and working with his representatives, and we believe that he's someone that will have a long career. And we can help him get there.”
Brian Wright on the Spurs' improbable run to the Finals:
"It was obviously a great season and a lot to learn and grow from. And I know the guys will take that in the summer and continue to improve."
Brian Wright said the Spurs have a "great group."
"We've got a lot of that group coming back and so we'll continue to do our due diligence, but we believe in the team we had. We believe we were there (in the Finals) for a reason."
Jayden Q. says he will likely have to have another clean up surgery on the knee, felt he should have gone higher in draft but knows his injury did not let him show out what he can do #nba#porvida#sanantonio
More from Brian Wright on Dylan Harper and De'Aaron Fox:
"They're are a tough matchup. We'll continue to put them in situations for them to be at their best...They'll learn from this year on how they continue to play off one another and support one another and go from there."
We’re heading in now to speak to Brian Wright about both rookies here at the #Spurs’ facility.
