@AsianDawn4 The kids are being bullied by the school or "the other students" who "shut it down." Is there no confrontation and animosity in that? Will they not get stronger by fighting against the school, those "other students," or the censorship?
Mostly joking, but made me think.
@nazenazekankoku Your complaint about Sakhalin is baffling. You lost former Japanese territory in a war. That's what happens in a war. You also lost the Northern Mariana Islands to my country, the United States, in that same war.
Your whining sounds like that of the Chinese communists.
@dakekang@shen_shiwei Those treaties were valid and binding, and were generally upheld by the parties to the agreements. Are you claiming they were invalid or unlawful like the occupation of Manchuria?
@jacobs_jam9548@FirstSquawk China's economy is stagnant and the communist regime is in crisis control. Look at how they are desperately censoring any news of that flood at their border with Nepal. The threat of China is greatly overstated.
@ahmed_marc15458@suni_code This is why China is not, and cannot, really be a threat to the West. The biggest threats to the West come from other factors and from within, not China.
@cine_mck@frontierism You've bought into leftist talking points designed to shift blame for Carter's faults unto Nixon. The Chinese economy didn't "open" until 1978 when Carter was president. Carter also switched diplomatic recognition to Beijing under Carter in 1979. All Nixon did was isolate USSR.
@LazulAdventure@goebbels_glare China is in decline and has never been able to invade Japan. History actually shows the opposite: Japan has been more than a match for China. Japan doesn't need American support to stand up to China.
@CaoHuangDi@HaraldinChina Even Han colonization of Taiwan is illegitimate under this reasoning. The current majority Han population would first have to leave before Taiwan could become legitimate under its native population. Your "localism" is just not workable with history as conquest was very common.
@CaoHuangDi@HaraldinChina This position presupposes democracy as a requirement for "legitimacy" (whatever that means) for historical states. That's just not a workable or reasonable position, and it anachronistically imposes modern morals on the past.
@CaoHuangDi@HaraldinChina I support Taiwan, but this is just a bad argument. This reasoning would arbitrarily declare most states in history as illegitimate. It also implies a far left opinion that is not bound to be popular. It should be enough to say modern Taiwan deserves to have self determination.
@Helios18818 This is why China is hardly a threat and massively over-hyped as one. Every country has easily defeated China and we don't need to worry about them.
@johnkonrad This is why China is massively over hyped as a threat. With the CCP ignorantly closing the door, that country will continue to decline. It's a problem that takes care of itself; it's nothing to worry too much about.
