If technology becomes the ultimate criterion, the human person risks being reduced to data, a cog in a machine or a commodity. If, however, technology is integrated with a wise perspective, it can become an instrument of growth, justice and fraternity. #MagnificaHumanitas
Michelle and I loved reading to this bright group of kids today!
We hope this new Chicago Public Library branch at the Obama Presidential Center will be a place where folks come to read, check out books, and connect with one another for years to come.
The same parents who travel long distances to help/ grieve/ celebrate their friends?
The ones greeting almost everyone from church to the market? They model alot about community and friendship. Alot of us think we're too good for mundane things.
Let's be serious please.
A little girl in Boston went home one day and asked her Nigerian mother if she could change her name to Zoe.
Nobody at school could say Uzoamaka.
Her mother was cooking. She didn't even turn around.
"If they can learn to say Tchaikovsky, Michelangelo, and Dostoyevsky, they can learn to say Uzoamaka."
That girl kept her name.
Then she went to Hollywood and won three Emmy Awards.
And now the whole world knows exactly how to say Uzoamaka Aduba.
Your name is not a burden. It's a prophecy.
@NeneBavu@TheAbojani It has been consistent in profitability, rewarding shareholders and trading at a relatively attractive valuation. Good for long term.
Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas

Life was better when there was a ‘computer room.’ Where you had to physically enter the room to get on the internet and then log off and leave that room and the internet stayed behind. The minute we were able to take it with us in our pockets that’s when society collapsed fully
Politicians are considered high risk even people related to them are placed in the same band wagon. Litigation in court looks promising up to the point of execution, premium tears!
Credit Bank has sued Moses Kuria over a Sh72.1 million debt.
According to court documents, Kuria, through his company Smith & Gold Productions Limited, took:
- A Sh10M facility in Sept 2019 - fully repaid
- A Sh20M facility in Dec 2019 - later went into arrears
The debt was then restructured in Dec 2022 into a Sh40.9M term loan payable over 5 years at about Sh932K monthly.
The loans were secured using:
- Personal guarantees
- Corporate guarantee
- Bomet University College undertakings
- Planned Sh5M proceeds from Karatu Stadium
The bank claims the defendants defaulted despite repeated demands.
Court documents say the debt rose from about Sh59.7M in May 2024 to Sh72.1M by Sept 2025 due to 13% interest plus penalties. A final demand was allegedly ignored.
Kuria has also faced past loan recovery issues before, including with Equity Bank.
This may partly explain his recent aggressive defence of the President in Mt Kenya.
My opinion: financial pressure changes political behaviour. When survival is at stake, loyalty becomes louder.
Tough times ahead for the guy

Government pathologist Johansen Oduor says he will continue practising both law and medicine after his admission to the Bar at Milimani Law Courts.
Oduor noted that his legal training has deepened his understanding of medico-legal matters and given him a more structured approach to decision-making in his work as a pathologist.
The Ashanti people of Ghana built furniture so significant it started a war. Their stools were not just common stools. Each one was carved from a single piece of wood, shaped to reflect the owner’s identity, status and soul. The Golden Stool was considered so sacred that when the British Governor demanded to sit on it in 1900, the Ashanti took up arms rather than allow it.
Today, Ghana imports plastic chairs from China.
@Kamau266 Skewed argument. In my lowest ebb in life when I was jobless for about an year books (and football) prevented me from completely unravelling mentally. Na tena books ni kama culture kama hazikuingii ata ukue settled aje na uhave all the time in the world utasoma tu to appear hip.
We paid a surprise visit to Abdullahi, a former Chase Bank manager who turned his love for books into @NuriaStore, a hub for African and self-published literature. He also runs a quiet initiative providing free sanitary pads via a dispenser, ensuring dignity and access for women.
Faith Odhiambo really made you swamp rats think the LSK is a human rights NGO rather than a body primarily meant to look after the welfare of advocates.
