"The biggest thing that I've seen... is actually not so much about how human-like Ai-Da is, but how robotic we are. The algorithms that run our systems..." @AidanMeller about art from robots. Percepts precede precepts, art precedes science
A robot artist called Ai-Da is due to present at a Communications and Digital Committee in the House of Lords. Ai-Da will speak on the subject of 'A Creative Future,’ alongside her developer Aidan Meller.

@giugglia I love this use of OpenAI. Reminds me of Chef Pierre, our behavioural research study about internet in the kitchen once it morphed into the web.
@privacylawyer Tower dump retention varies by system. Telus for example keeps customer bills for 7 years; call detail for 14 months; IP addresses for 90 days. Here are U.S. examples from an old FOIA. https://t.co/jifg0rjypt
@benschmidt1 Ben, there is an old saying that LOGOS overcomes MYTHOS. But both are powerful in measure. To apply it to UX - when people can't explain their reasoning (LOGOS) they work it into a poignant (PATHOS) scenario (MYTHOS) that is already widely believed (ETHOS)
@Tech_Informer_ If you study innovation, use these to think about your user behaviours, expectations, and learning. Each of these adoption curves were steep and have passed their 50% inflection. Some have asymptoted. Their slopes and asymptotes inform the life and pace of your innovation.
More than once, inheriting a team, I was told I needed to manage out known underperformers.
Every time, what I saw was that the designers were capable, talented. But they were working in a suboptimal context.
Improving the environment improved the work.
EVENT ALERT: Join @hodanomaar on March 23 as she talks with @benbendc about his new book, "Human-Centered AI: Ensuring Human Control, Enhancing Human Performance." https://t.co/TM1DfilZL0
A participant says "I don't use the chatbot; it uses the same jargon as the menus". If you're building alternative navigation, first look into @conways_law
Love this combination of UX research and design methods: "bodystorming" a conceptual design in VR with a pentad of parameters; all remote. https://t.co/WdgDyiAhJE
UX is included in CFIA's Open Science plan for "New Ideas" to be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable - the FAIR principle https://t.co/2cY90stutR
@benschmidt1@simplebits@theleagueof Also Chipwits and Hypercard were fun. I just calculated what I'd have if I bought shares instead of the FatMac 512. Don't ask.
