Adulthood is a balancing act. We celebrate while grieving on the other hand. We laugh through tears. We show up while falling apart. We congratulate others while counting losses. We dance in the storm. And life goes on.

Just 30 kilometers north of Tzaneen in Limpopo province, South Africa, lies the village of Medingen. It is here that Prudence Sekgodiso’s journey as an athlete began—one that would lead to her becoming one of the country’s leading middle-distance runners.
Last year, Sekgodiso made history by becoming the first South African woman to win an indoor gold medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.
Following her world-leading and national record time of 1:58.40 in the 800-meter final, she said in a Bidvest Group interview: “I was in disbelief. Going to China I knew I was going to [win a] medal, but not a gold medal. I would say all of this came down to me working hard and doing what I have always wanted.”
Ladies! Get pepper spray! Especially if you walk / jog outside! Even when you take Uber or a taxi! This can literally save your life! It will buy you time to get away.
Dear Black Women,
Normalize getting help. Hiring someone to clean your home, dropping clothes at the laundromat, using a meal prep service.
You deserve the soft life. Burnout is not a badge of honor.
South Africans have no other home. We don’t have passports that will take us to other countries when this country fails that’s why we must fight. South Africa is the only country we know and we remember.
Lastly, who on earth taught you guys to go to breakfast in pyjamas and lingerie when you are at a hotel? Regardless of the hotel standards but where is your self respect?
CHAMPIONS! If you’re feeling a little worn out and tired this time of the year, just remember the Springboks beat the Six Nations champions with 14 men. ❤️🇿🇦
