Del Toro: “Today I gave it everything, tried from every angle. I was always in the mix, the whole time, but it was never enough. Nobody was cooperating, so it was very complicated. I don’t blame the others for not doing so. I understand why they did that.”
If there’s one thing I’ve particularly appreciated in 2026, it’s Isaac del Toro’s game face in the final third of races.
The Mexican star treats every single race as if it was a Game 7 of an NBA final, and his facial expressions and gestures reveal this concentration especially when sunglasses are off. The moment I looked at his face on my 10x10-centimetre phone screen yesterday 700 metres from the finish, and saw that look, which may be particularly haunting at times like this – I knew he couldn’t lose GP Montreal.
I want more of this, Isaac, cause this is what makes him iconic.
