Please don't risk your children's health - get them vaccinated> Child with measles dies in Alder Hey as health officials fear outbreak - Liverpool Echo https://t.co/JFb7tko2PZ
In Liverpool only 73% have had both MMR doses, one of the lowest in the country.
In 2016, the UK was declared measles free. Now, Alder Hey has treated 17 children with measles in just the last month!
The number of deaths is going to continue to increase.

Measles is horrible. Problem is no matter how good the science and data we are dealing with a population that is traumatized by government that anything government affiliated is approached with extreme caution. I understand why leadership and governance is key for strong healthcare systems
The Ministry of Health has today launched a Nationwide Integrated Measles-Rubella vaccine and Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine Campaign, which will run from 5th to 14th July 2025 across all 47 counties. The campaign seeks to protect children from life-threatening but preventable diseases, with a focus on increasing coverage for these critical vaccines.
Children aged between 9 and 59 months will receive the Measles-Rubella vaccine, while those aged 9 months to 14 years will be targeted with the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine.
The national launch event held at Githogoro Grounds in Westlands Sub-County, Nairobi, was officiated by the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, EGH.
The Ministry is working closely with county governments, development partners and frontline health workers to ensure the campaign reaches every eligible child across the country.
I have not seen measles for a long time until the last 2 months when I managed children with confirmed cases of measles. It was not a pretty sight. (Some adults were also affected) . I support the 10-Day Nationwide Vaccine Campaign Against Typhoid and MeaslesβRubella by MOH which is essential in curbing the spread of these illnesses.

The "0" polio dose, referring to the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), is typically givenΒ within the first 14 days of a child's life, ideally within 24 hours after birth.Β
If this dose has not been given by 14 days wait until the child is six weeks old, and then give OPV1 together with other routine EPI vaccines. The at 10 and 14 weeks.
