@mxer5280 @mhp_guy Insane to steal that much when you can just bulk batch detergent powder and dilute it. He’d need to pay a squad to steal that much on the regular and this is legal, safe, and extremely fucking cheap to do
@mhp_guy Sounds unrealistic, and some claiming stolen merch, but I can’t help but suspect that he’s making laundry detergent powder in bulk and diluting with water, because frankly it’s CHEAP.
@Drew_Tran@mhp_guy Nah, think about it. Even if he’s reselling stolen Tide, you need ~2.5 of the largest bottles per 5 gallon bucket that’s being sold for next to nothing. You’d need an entire team of ballsy/dedicated smurfs to rack all of that and they won’t be cheap… he’s making it and diluting
@MilesPerHoward It’s critical that we eliminate the cap on liquor licenses dictated by MA legislators. If anyone who wanted one could get a liquor license, it might ease the risk of opening a new venue etc. I’ve seen restaurants fail from not being able to purchase a license quick enough
@whstancil For example, an intelligent person w/ ADHD might have fairly high percentile verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, and processing speed BUT bottom percentile working memory. This might lead to an average or near avg full scale IQ, but you can increase working mem with meds
@whstancil It’s beyond infuriating that none of these knuckle heads even understand the domains measured that lead to a full scale IQ score or what they mean (let alone that the individual scales mean a LOT more than full scale) 1/2
@_SonOfCormac @llakersllama @ctsfumo@whstancil Right, that’s why Donald Trump didn’t win the primaries to become GOP candidate in 2016 after all those visible displays of displeasure from all sides? Get a grip man, plus the other dem candidates are Williamson and a guy who wants to put Elon in his cabinet
@abhishekarghya@ArmandDoma 2/2 and additionally, honestly, if free fares DID increase ridership on the T significantly, in its current state it’s not really in the position to take on a massive increase in riders. If the increase isn’t massive, seems like a lot of funding lost for little positives
@abhishekarghya@ArmandDoma Fair point (no pun intended). But, we do put tolls on most of the major interstates. I’d also argue that US highways are in more of a maintenance phase than, at the least, the MBTA. I would argue for more funding from ANY source incl. fares until it’s fixed 1/2
@abhishekarghya@ArmandDoma Buddy, that was a few bus lines, and the MBTA just announced they need 24 billion dollars to fix the train lines. Reductions in fare collections since COVID have specifically been cited as major contributors to the MBTAs budget problems. MBTA just got OMNY to increase collection
@Cosby@PartyWurmple@opinonhaver Buddy, you got no idea what I spend my days doing, I can assure you it’s worthwhile and towards the common good. this degrowth nonsense you are talking about does nothing but put millions of sick and disabled people at risk of early death, and is a call to destroy med science
@invain___ @MF_DUNE@opinonhaver If you want to work in studying depression cures, and by that you mean medications, you will likely be a lot happier in private industry than academia. For the most part, all of that research is industry funded (if you are talking meds, which is WAY more fun than CBT etc imo)
@invain___ @MF_DUNE@opinonhaver When you say own your own research lab, what do you mean by that? Like have a position at a University where you are grant funded? Private industry funded trial site? Serious question, do you like novelty? If you value it significantly, I rec staying away from R01 dependent work
@invain___ @MF_DUNE@opinonhaver I hear a lot of myself in your comments. HIGHLY recommend not doing grad school for at least 2 years post undergrad, but frankly, sounds like you need to 5 take some time learn to what you actually like doing versus what sounds good. 1/2
@invain___ @MF_DUNE@opinonhaver It’s 100% not, and imo not something you should do until you can outline a role that you specifically want that requires it (esp if you mean a PhD). I can’t emphasize enough how much there is to gain from at least working a CRC job after undergrad. What do you enjoy?
@MF_DUNE@opinonhaver Strong respect for that, if you can stomach the lifestyle/pressures sounds based to me. Everyone’s different and gotta find the path that works for you.
@gamerboiprince@MF_DUNE@opinonhaver Depends what role you want to have. Imo, 5-6 years as a PhD is hard to justify financially/experientially unless the role you are aiming for requires it
