I enjoyed history in High School and my teacher was one of the best. Venerable GB Daramola who was my history teacher at Loyola and became one of the great school principals of the Southwest was thorough with the checks and balances of the Oyo kingdom and the Oyomesi.

Claude Ake, one of the true greats of Pol. Sci to come out of Nigeria pointed to a characteristic of the state in post colonial Africa to place its survival above existential needs of citizens. The current order in Nigeria exemplifies that. Sadly this is why progress has stalled
