It’s fine to be anti-tank, but you can’t have it both ways
42 of the last 44 NBA champions have won with their best player being drafted or signed in free agency
Unless the Nets draft an MVP level player in the late lottery, they are not winning a championship (see odds below)
Nate Ament 2025-26 Stats
16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists
40% FG
33% 3PT
79% FT
Ament shot 43% from 2PT and had a 1-1 AST/TOV ratio. Should the Nets prioritize Ament in the draft?
If the Thunder discuss deals to move up in the draft, I would keep an eye on the Nets (No. 6), Mavericks (No. 9), and Bucks (No. 10) as potential trade partners.
OKC is viewed as a strong trade-up candidate with the 12th, 17th, and 37th overall picks this year, as well as a war chest of future draft assets.
This isn’t the own you think it is you are supposed to adjust the evals to new info, like college basketball, guys drop every year and many times rightfully so
It feels like Sean Marks is operating on sunk cost fallacy
We're getting so many rumors that they wanna draft Ament or Lopez and that they wanna trade down.
Drafting Mikel Brown or Darius Acuff is an admission that he shouldn't have taken 3 guards in last years draft
This is why I don't get too mad when players are delusional, the amount of work it takes to make it to the NBA is insane. A 21 year old NBA player has worked harder than most people have in their whole lives
This isn’t the gotcha you think it is
All these tweets were from last year, an entire college season has happened and we now know the limitations of Nate Ament
Reports that Ament is considered at 6 shouldn’t come as a surprise to #netsworld . Just a few months ago even the harshest critics of Nets Twitter were advocating for him as a top tier talent in this class .
SOURCE: The Brooklyn #Nets’ interest in Nate Ament at No. 6 appears to be gaining legitimate traction.
One league source described Ament as a “polarizing player,” though also someone who could be an ideal fit alongside Egor Demin due to the duo’s combination of size and shooting ability.
A few weeks ago, a source described Ament as a “dark horse” option for Brooklyn at No. 6.
Since then, league buzz surrounding the possibility has only continued to grow, making him a name worth monitoring as the draft approaches.
It seems very likely the nets will draft nate ament at 6 with everything we know.
He fits the bill of marks type, super high recruit rank 1nD who underperforms their ranking with an inefficient FR season.
Pedigree over production is the Sean Marks standard

Kevin Durant averaged 25.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.9 blocks in college and lead the Big 12 in Points, Rebounds, and Blocks per game
Nate Ament averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 0.6 blocks and shot exactly 39.9% FG as a 6"10 Forward
Nothing against Nate Ament, but I really don't see why the Nets would take him over Darius Acuff or Mikel Brown
He's got good measurables, but he's so far away skill wise. Shot under 40% FG as a 6'10 Forward, and has no elite skill coming out of college

I don't understand why we're getting so many trade down rumors from the 5-6 range?
Do the Nets and Clippers not believe in Brown or Acuff? Am I missing something here?
