Be aware New Mexico! We are looking at potentially historic amounts of Snow in the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez and Sandia/Manzano mountains over the next few days. Expect feet, not inches of snow and impacts to travel along the I-40, I-25, 550, 285 and 380/60 corridors. #nmwx
Here is the current #Drought status in the Southwest region. NM remains almost entirely in drought and conditions are expected to persist for at least the next several weeks.
New CART case study: Keyline design uses the natural ridges and contours of land’s topography to slow, spread, and sink rainwater - a strategy to use on rangeland with drought-hardened soils. Ranchers in NM detail their success here: https://t.co/HgCRSELGO6.
Earth Day
We only have one planet. This #EarthDay, join the USDA Climate Hubs in celebrating our home, Earth, by learning more about climate change in your region.
