Observations from neuroDIVERSE perspectives. Handled by a #latedx, #neuroAtypical, #neurodivergent, #2e PhD in neuro. Advocating 4 voice, awareness & acceptance
The brain is complex & no 2 are alike… Paradoxically, patterns emerge when comparing 1000s

My son doesn’t understand the concept of time at all.
All he understands is, waking up and going to bed.
Time means nothing to him, absolutely nothing.
This is one of the many reasons he doesn’t like waiting on anyone or anything.

My autistic ass needs you to be specific! Was just paying for take out and the person asked "would you like a receipt?"
Me: "Sure, why not"
Them: "OK it will be a few minutes"
Me: "Oh, well don't worry about it then 🙂"
Them: "🤔 The pizza isn't ready yet, just another few minutes please"
Me: "😮 Oh THE PIZZA will take a few minutes. I thought you meant THE RECEIPT 😂"
Them: "No sir, the receipt is quick"
🤣

What are things that happen with untreated/unsupported ADHD? I hear there are lots of struggles, some that overlap with mental illnesses. I'm trying to learn more about the long-term implications of my own ADHD, treated only briefly (& unsuccessfully) w/ Ritalin in my teens.
