📣I am glad to announce that one of our recent studies, “Rho-Associated Kinase Inhibitors in Cerebral Cavernous Malformations: A Preclinical Systematic Review,” has been accepted to be published in @NeurosurgRev Neurosurgical Review.
In this study, we evaluated the literature to answer:
👉🏾 Could medical treatment strategies targeting the RhoA–ROCK pathway serve as stabilizing options for deep-seated or surgically challenging CCMs?
👉🏾 We systematically evaluated preclinical murine CCM studies assessing direct ROCK inhibitors, including fasudil and BA-1049, as well as indirect pathway modulation with statins.
⚠️ Across the included studies, ROCK pathway modulation appeared to be associated with reductions in key disease markers, including lesion burden and non-heme iron deposition.
