I stopped giving generic advice the day I lost a $25K client.
- I once gave a client what I thought was
“the standard playbook.”
You know — optimize this, test that, increase budget here.
The problem?
That client didn’t need a playbook.
They needed clarity.
They didn’t care about CTR.
They cared about results.
That loss hit hard.
But it changed everything.
I rebuilt my approach from the ground up:
→ Strategy with context
→ Insights without fluff
→ Execution that reflects the business, not the textbook
Since then, I’ve retained 90%+ of our clients.
Not by overpromising.
But by listening, thinking, and building around what actually matters.
Experience isn’t about how long you’ve worked.
It’s about what changed you.
- NB
If AI hasn’t saved you time, you’re using it wrong.
AI isn’t supposed to inspire you.
It’s supposed to unclog your workflow.
I’ve used AI tools that gave me zero value.
And I’ve built custom ones that saved me 20+ hours/month.
The difference?→ Tools built for demos vs tools built for execution
Here’s what’s actually working for us:
- AI to auto-flag underperforming ad sets
-AI to turn meeting transcripts into actionable next steps
-AI to pre-write reports based on data feeds
AI doesn’t replace people.
It replaces delay.
Use it to clear the bottlenecks - not as a shiny toy.
-NB
We didn’t scale the ad. We rebuilt the trust.
We didn’t scale the ad. We rebuilt the trust.
One client came to us after burning $15K on ads.
They had traffic.
They had a product.
But their conversions were flat.
Everyone told them to “increase spend.”
I told them to stop.
Here’s what we did instead:
→ Rebuilt the landing page to focus on clarity and proof
→ Added genuine testimonials with real results
→ Simplified the CTA and offer framing
Within 3 weeks:
📷 Conversion rate tripled
📷 CAC dropped by 47%
📷 Same ad. Same spend. Better trust.
Your ads are only as strong as your landing page logic.
Want better results?
Start with what people see after they click.
- NB
Your marketing agency should annoy you less and perform more.
If your agency sends you 3 reports a month and you still don’t know what’s going on, that’s a problem.
If they keep talking about “awareness” when you’re bleeding revenue, it's a red flag.
If they sound impressive but can’t connect your ad spend to your sales…"
You’re not in a partnership. You’re in a performance drain.
At NFlow, we keep things simple:
→ What are we testing?
→ What are we learning?
→ What’s the next move?
That’s how marketing should work.
Transparent. Focused. Accountable.
Anything else is just noise dressed up as expertise.
- NB
Traffic is not your problem.
Stop blaming the platform.
Google didn’t ruin your ad. Meta didn’t block your growth.
- Your strategy just sucks.
- You don’t need more traffic.
- You need better alignment.
- Right message
- Right intent
- Right moment
Ads are not magic.
They’re multipliers.
And if you multiply confusion, you’ll scale losses.
Fix the foundation before you increase the budget.
That's how we build brands that print profit.
- NB
Running ads? Save this.
3 quick fixes to stop wasting money on ads:
1. Exclude audiences that already bought from you.
2. Always separate cold vs warm traffic.
3. Use exact-match keywords for high-intent buyers.
These small tweaks save thousands.
Simple but ignored by 80% of businesses.
What’s one ad mistake you see brands making again and again?
-NB
Urgency tactics like "Only 3 left" don’t work the way they used to.
Buyers are smarter in 2025.
They know when they’re being tricked.
What works now?
- Transparency (Price going up after 15th Aug)
- Social proof (Trusted by 4,200+ customers)
- Risk removal (30-day money back)
The psychology has shifted from “fear of missing out” to fear of making the wrong choice.
- When you buy online, what convinces you more: discounts or social proof?
-NB
The campaign wasn’t broken. The customer journey was.
A client came to us with this:
- $7,000/month ad budget
- Solid creative
- CTR was decent
- Zero growth
Everyone was blaming the ads.
We audited everything and found the real problem:
→ No email follow-up
→ No urgency in the offer
→ Zero retargeting
We added just two layers:
Retargeting ads with testimonials
A 3-email sequence that fixed objections
The next 60 days?
→ 6.1x ROAS
→ CAC dropped 38%
→ Lifetime value doubled
The traffic wasn’t the issue.
The system around it was.

I didn’t build NFlow to play safe.
I didn’t build NFlow to run ads.
I built it to kill bad marketing.
The kind that reports clicks instead of profit.
The kind that sounds smart but doesn’t sell.
The kind that looks good in a deck but burns your budget.
In my world, ROAS isn’t a goal. It’s the bare minimum.
If you’re not seeing 8x-10x returns, something’s broken.
I’ve turned introverts into closers.
I’ve turned ad spend into scale machines.
And I’ve done it by building systems that think like buyers, not marketers.
Welcome to how I work.
No fluff. Just growth.

If you follow Neil Patel, a couple of months ago, he started posting videos on every channel about "The time I got sued," about a case from 2011.
I thought, “Why is Neil flooding social media with a story from 14 years ago?“
The answer is a clever bit of reputation management.
These posts are pushing down Google search results that he most likely doesn't want anybody to see.
It's a truly remarkable story of SEO, contracts, deliverables, and ultimately, bankruptcy. Anyone working in digital marketing should be aware of it.

@JohnMu@searchliaison, has the recent core update limited the number of SERP pages? Earlier, we could see up to 10 pages, but now it’s hardly 2-3.
