I’m not vocal about my politics, mostly since I don’t have much of a platform here. But let’s have no confusion:
I support all peoples’ human rights, regardless of demographic.
In games and other media, women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled folk, and others have been underrepresented.
@necrologies Every time the soulsword came out I did go “yes, that’s AWESOME.” (Actually, I liked pretty much all the actors and special effects. Bobby also looked great.) And even if Dani and Rahne’s attraction isn’t canon, I loved what a not a big deal it was treated as that it was sapphic.
@necrologies As somebody who is a fellow fan of the character but probably doesn’t know her as well as you do, I’m sorry it was such a failed portrayal for you. And now I’m going to recognize that I’m probably out of my lane and stop talking about it.
@necrologies I didn’t mind that she was alienated and kind of hurtful, and I actually kind of liked Lockheed as Hobbes, but I can see that some of the particular ways they had her act out were thoughtlessly written. I get what you’re saying.
@BDaveWalters@GailSimone told a great story on here about how it turns out that the actress who played Kung Fu Hustle’s landlady also played one of the schoolgirls who save Roger Moore’s ass in The Man with the Golden Gun.
@necrologies There’s a book I picked up used somewhere that I’m very fond of, Luck of the Wheels by Megan Lindholm. I don’t remember how I found out but after an ex introduced me to the Liveship Traders, I was charmed to learn they’re the same person!
@BDaveWalters I don’t give a LOT of 100s, but I do give them when people are really exemplary.
I usually tell my students that it’s hard to get an A but pretty straightforward to get an A-.
