Get ready to race with Tissue Nitro! Pull tissues fast to boost your car, but don’t speed too much or you'll get a penalty. Inspired by the time I threw tissues out the car window as a kid... and got my family pulled over.
A fun alt ctrl game my classmates made for @NewArcadeITP!
You play a kid who's trying to eat their dinner ASAP. You can try to finish quicker by feeding some of it to the family dog when the parents aren't looking. Finish before the parents put more veggies in your bowl!
In case you missed it here are some games that were featured last night at @wondervillenyc
Haunt Hunt - a 1v1 game where you play as a detective or a ghost on a top-down split screen map
Tonight is the showcase for the @NewArcadeITP class! Students designed four games and built custom arcade cabinets in just 7 weeks! The unveiling is at 6pm tonight, May 5th, at Wonderville!
We were the rare group to be entirely there for the livestream interview! Had a great time working with
@MrDanNoble, Kay, and Tres on this project. 5/5 would definitely work with them again :)

Ever wanna be a paparazzi chasing an idol, or vice versa? Now you can with this beautifully designed table top arcade game. 🏃♀️📸
Next up is Space Pirates! (final name TBD) Created by @karomancer, Tres, Daniel, and Kay.
In this game, you work with two other friends tow steer the space pirate-ship with a whopping 3 (!!!) custom controllers to conquer the universe. 🪐🏴☠️
We worked on a prototype for the captain's wheel today. Had some issues with the electronics, but I can now say that I've cracked the code! Works pretty well and consistently.
Now to make it look better and to ensure it transfers well to our Unity game.
The New Arcade students are hard at work on their final projects, in which they work in groups of 4 to
- Design a game
- Program the game
- Make the controllers
- Create the art & music
- Fabricate a cabinet
It's a lot to ask for about a month. Stay tuned for progress shots!
Obviously, the game itself will inform the cabinet shape, so we're starting to program the game.
I have been slacking on the art but at least we got a proof-of-concept of moving a ship and shooting!
Clearly one of the roles has to shoot a cannon. Not sure about the other yet.
We liked the idea of having a sit down table shaped like a boat, and we were all jazzed about having the head of the table have a captain's wheel for driving the boat.
The other two roles are still TBD but we decided on a three player game. Here's some first draft CAD ideas.
