ACNA News: The Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes has announced candidates for its next bishop.

The Rt. Rev. Allen Kannapell and the Very Rev. Christopher Klukas will be up for election on Oct 17.

All candidates in ADGL are required to affirm the ordination of female priests.

@episcoben I think this is a step toward unity, despite however much some corners may protest. I must be blocked by about half the online ACNA accounts now for simply pointing out that there are many LGBT+ affirming congregations and clergy in the ACNA.

I thought ADLW was the only diocese in the ACNA where women are ordained as deacons but not licensed to preach. ADLW's position paper on holy orders appears to object to the practice of women preaching at Eucharistic services.

Tomorrow, we dedicate our new school chapel. It's been quite a journey: the first plans were drawn up in 1965.

One unusual thing is that the dedication will be led by an ACNA bishop and a TEC bishop, working together. Heavens! There can't be many ‘bridge’ institutions like ours.

@jmyers1018 @IVMiles @mrdavidrowe There are plenty of ACNA clergy who are Side A and most clergy don't see the big deal about this. David, for example, is an ACNA chaplain at the school where the consecration took place and he also signed the Dear Gay Anglicans letter in 2021.
