Lagos people are like Americans. They don't travel outside Lagos, but assume they know Nigeria. Nigeria does not end and start in Lagos. It's why many Nigerians think that all Northerners are Muslims.

We can help protect our communities from the coronavirus disease by avoiding large gatherings while practicing good hygiene like handwashing with soap and water.
#EidElKabir#StaySafe#TakeResponsibility
As we celebrate #EidAlAdha , let's support the most vulnerable and marginalised practice good hygiene by providing clean water, soap and handwashing facilities.
#TakeResponsibility#StaySafe
We also need a commercial approach to water and sanitation where models for Public Private Partnerships (PPP) with clear roles and responsibilities are laid out and implemented. Finally, citizens need to play their roles and be responsible enough to pay for services provided.
"There's need for substantial budgets for the water sector. In @PlateauStateJos we've made efforts and adequate budgetary allocations together with support from development partners." - Commissioner of Water Resources, Plateau State.
"The Water Law has been gazetted in @PlateauStateJos We are cooperating with Local Government Areas and WASH has been institutionalised to ensure facilities are maintained. With these, we hope to achieve at least 70% access to water by 2030." - Commisioner of Water Resources.
8. The private sector also needs to step in and explore the opportunities in turning faecal sludge to wealth. With #COVID19 there's need to channel these opportunities to ensure everyone has access to WASH services.
We are in the last mile to 2030 and it's possible.
"Water is a basic human right but it has a cost. It is an economic commodity that should be paid for and that's why we need regulations like the water resources bill to help guide that. Not all water is from the sky, we need to be responsible citizens." - @SHadamufnse
@FMWR_NGR

One of the ways @NewsanPlateau is taking action on the Covid19 response is by producing and donating 10 contactless Handwashing facilities to the Plateau State government, funded by @WaterAidNigeria, and installed at 10 identified public locations in Jos.
#Handwashing#WASH4ALL
โ#WASH is the whole foundation of infection prevention, and it always has beenโ, Bruce Gordon (@WHO). Emergency responses must prioritise achieving access to clean #water and #sanitation for #vulnerable groups during critical times such as #COVID19.

#WASH is a no regrets action against #COVID19 and has always been critical to preventing cholera.
Yet water, soap and basic sanitation are still missing from homes, schools, workplaces and health centers around the world.
Itโs time for urgent action.
