I'm a contracted employee for the federal government and the difference is that there is no chance of compensation for the shutdown days for me and others in my position. #ShutdownStories
@bigbeersnob @kp51xc90 There are a lot of different circumstances. I have only dealt with my contractor in a few emails and initial interview. Since I started I have worked exclusively for one manager in the federal government.
@texascookie77 Well if it weren't for the hiring freeze I probably would have been picked up as a government employee. But your probably right I must be worth less than someone with a government title.
While the shutdown continues to build financial angst for many of us, I would like to thank everyone for their encouragement and support and will keep posting until we are all back to work. We may may have differing political views but we are unified by our motivation. Thank you.
@ficoguy Well it's through a contractor but because I'm hourly I will not receive compensation. I've been fortunate to have enough financial stability to maintain status quo if we have a short shutdown but I sympathize others less fortunate.
@Brenda77714 No it's more like there has been a 5 year hiring freeze in... The department I reside and I was sourced from an outside company so you can put your assumptions elsewhere.
@forestsoceans @NBCNews@NBCOUT Maybe I'm playing the devil's advocate but I state this because we have very little information surrounding the situation. Like the college swimmer that was accused of rape. Turns out it was a false allegation but the news destroyed him publicly before a verdict was reached.
@forestsoceans @NBCNews@NBCOUT There's no argument that if the principal did that it was wrong. I just have the problem with the statement he should be punished. That's for the board of education to decide. If the verdict is bad then it becomes NBCs job to show the facts of the case.
