@code_is_@LGAmbrose Direction of the pass is irrelevant. Position of player receiving the ball versus position of the ball at the time it was last played by a team-mate is relevant.
Although Gordon's left foot was probably in front of the ball, they can't tell for sure, so they allowed the goal.
@BarrieEditor1 I grew up in New Zealand. Because all the UK magazines and comics were shipped by surface mail, it took three months for them to arrive and my charts always arrived in November.
@EatSleepFutBall@RiccardoDAgnese@NZ_Football@AucklandCity_FC You could make that argument this season. Next season it could all change again, with no Blenheim clubs playing or Nelson, or reverting to the old Top of the South League. It's very fluid.
@EatSleepFutBall@RiccardoDAgnese@NZ_Football@AucklandCity_FC Richmond were promoted to the Mainland League in 2006. They beat Burnside from Canterbury and then Avon United, the bottom club in the MPL. There was no South Island League then. So I do think the MPL is one step above the leading Canty, Nelson and Marlborough divisions.
@EatSleepFutBall@RiccardoDAgnese@NZ_Football@AucklandCity_FC Actually, now I think about this a bit more, I suspect the Mainland Premier League is one step above the Nelson and Marlborough Leagues. If Nelson Suburbs were to be relegated from the South Island League, they would no doubt enter the Mainland Premier League.
@EatSleepFutBall@RiccardoDAgnese@NZ_Football@AucklandCity_FC Nelson Men's Premier and Marlborough Div 1 are both technically Tier 3, the equivalent to the Mainland Premiership, which is restricted to Canterbury clubs. In the past a Marlborough rep team has played in the Nelson League which hints at the relative strength of the leagues.
@RiccardoDAgnese@NZ_Football@AucklandCity_FC I just looked more closely at the map. I see Nelson has been moved. However, FC Nelson play at Neale Park, which is in the city, not at Saxton Field with Nelson Suburbs.

@mikeburgess99@FIFAWorldCup@NZ_Football Much better for the fans, and the All Whites, but part of Infantino's expansion promise to the European clubs was that no country would play more than seven matches. He's now broken that promise and inadvertently admitted how bad and ill thought-out his original plan was.
2/2. But his hands were tied because he promised European clubs that no country would play more than seven matches.
Now he is sneaking in a new format through the back door that will break that promise. Four countries will play eight matches. Just shows his lack of planning.
What Amaju Pinnick said about Infantino's idiotic 16 group 48-team format, the day before it was unanimously rubber-stamped.
It seems all that "research" wasn't so great after all and apparently he didn't "get it right". 1/2
