this whole “only first class and second class upper” thing is one of the reasons Nigeria will always be backwards
I’ve worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies and no single one has ever set a minimum GPA requirement to consider me worthy of the job
all this does is filter out worthy applicants, the interview is where you determine who has the requisite knowledge and experience for the position
How does graduating with a Second Class Lower automatically make someone unintelligent?
The fact that the little girl was attacked(you are not smart), says a lot about the kind of people claiming to be the ones who want to fix Nigeria.
If you can call out school authorities and government officials when they do wrong, you should also be willing to accept criticism when you are in the wrong else that would be regarded as pretense.
@winexviv This is one of reasons I disagree with your proposal of allowing only those with first class and second class upper to become teachers.
I passed through a lot before graduating, many graduated with a very poor result yet, they can do wonders in their field of study.
My Bros, what’s your beef with 2nd class lower graduates? You know very well that many factors contribute to both higher and lower grades aside being smart and being dull? Your binary view on this topic is beginning to make me question your critical thinking processes 🤔 There are people with 3rd class degrees who traveled to Europe and ended up with first class degrees… You can motivate students to aim for excellence without shaming those with low grades. While education is great, it’s not necessarily the only means to achievement, success, or even happiness.
Peter Obi graduated with a Third Class in Philosophy. Yet, owned buildings and a thriving business as a student and was Chairman of a bank in his 30s.
‘Smartness’ has nothing to do with grades. In fact, one may argue that the Nigerian drive to graduate with good grades rather than focus on solving problems has created a nation full of educated people bereft of critical thinking.
Alex! Alex!! Alex!!!
For the one millionth time, academic degree is not a measure of intelligence or being smart for God sake.
Academic Degree grade only reflect dedication and strong will. Not intelligence. Stop making people feel less about themselves just because they didnt make first or second class degrees.
