THE LAND LAWS AMENDMENT BILL, NO. 2 OF 2023
This is a thread highlighting the (evil) amendments proposed to be introduced to our land laws by "the Bill".
1/ Section 48 of the amendment bill introduces an amendment to the Land Act, no 6 of 2012 by introducing Section 28A
You are right SC. James Gichuru to Rironi underpasses do flood because their respective outfall drains have not been completed. This includes Zambezi, Chunga Mali/ Tilisi, Gichini. For Zambezi &Chunga Mali the acquisition of land to construct a pond is not done.
Unfinished work includes service roads, Kangemi overpass, Gitaru interchange, the various other underpasses. Outfall drains also plus street lights and footbridges
The James Guchuri -Rironi road has an active development contract with a huge pending bill. As you may be aware we have unfinished roads all over the country with a cumulative pending bill of KShs 165B. Under the law a road with active development contract can’t be allocated maintenance funds. At the same time the contractor is waiting some payment to resume site.
Because of the accidents and incidences on that road we have requested a partial budgetary support from the treasury and have negotiated with the contractor to, upon receiving the partial payment, resume site and complete the most critical sections for the sake of safety.
We have held extensive discussions with the leaders of Kiambu led by the Majority Leader National Assembly and Nairobi leaders. Governor Sakaja, MPs West Lands, Kabete, Kikuyu, Kiambaa , Limuru and Lari , Women Rep and Senator Kiambu have all called on me severally to discuss the completion of that road. All things constant we should commence works on the critical areas within the next four weeks.

The article might be PR. But does it mean even the Bloomberg analysts are doing PR? Don't think so.
@waweru_sammy@marsh_thumbiz We had 4 options ya waongo. Tukachoose yule muongo the best. Huyu lies zake zilikiwa zimeenda group of schools so we went with him. Shida iko wapi? It's not like wengine wangefanya anything better.
To the young men out there:
Be careful who you follow.
A lot of masculinity content is written by bitter, hateful, unhealed men.
They want you to accept their reality instead of doing the work to heal themselves.
Women are not your enemy & hate will never heal you.
Where is the yield coming from?
Take some time to think about this:
1. Kenyan 10-yr bond is yielding 14.3%
2. Commercial bank deposits are yielding 6-8%.
3. Sacco deposits are yielding 8-11%
5. Money market funds close to 10%.
4. Mobile banking apps..

The one thing Killing SMEs is delayed payments by brands that do not care about SMEs. You contract an SME to do some work and then once done, the mouse games begin. It is not right NOR fair. ~ Soko Directory
My heart bleeds for men struggling with school fees. I was there in 2019 and felt ashamed and a failure when I told my family I could no longer afford it. That changed.
Bro, don't be ashamed when you can't afford something, but take the initiative and find a better alternative.
