Something that breaks my heart as a Millennial is how fucking optimistic and fun our teenage years and 20s were. Feminism is not a luxury brand or a badge of honor for the liberated. Feminism is for all of us. Feminism by definition is especially for those marginalized by class or appearance. We are all worthy to deserve and demand fairness and equity.

The message might be well intentioned because it’s in the best interest of every woman to be financially independent because money is power. Money is options, money is protection (to an extent). But the wrapping paper the message came in is all wrong and we should do better.
