After the meeting in Alaska about an imminent peace, last night and this morning, Putin:
◾️ attacked a residential building in Kharkiv, killing 7 people (including two children) and injuring 23. The number of victims may rise, as there are still people under the rubble;
◾️ attacked Zaporizhzhia, killing 3 civilians and injuring 23;
◾️ attacked the building of Sumy State University.
He continues his "a good conversation - an attack on peaceful cities" tactic.
Another strike was carried out on the SOCAR oil depot in the Odesa region. This is an obvious message to President Aliyev and an indirect one to President Trump's peace efforts in the Caucasus.
NBC News reports that U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth unilaterally halted a weapons shipment to Ukraine, despite military analysis showing it wouldn’t compromise U.S. readiness.
The move blindsided Congress, the State Department, Kyiv, and European allies. Some weapons, including Patriot interceptors and air-to-air missiles, were already loaded for delivery in Poland.
It’s the third time Hegseth has paused aid without prior coordination.

About a year ago I was invited to be a closed door speaker at a gathering of wealthy, highly educated people.
After I was done giving remarks, one of the attendees asked why they never saw images of the war in Ukraine. It wasn't meant to be snarky or mean. They were genuinely curious, and I was genuinely speechless.
For those who live this war, it seems unfathomable. For those very far away, it seems preposterous that a European capital could come under siege.
And yet, here we are again. Kyiv is burning and those who see, see. And those who don't, don't.
The violent detention of Sen. Alex Padilla was terrible. But what DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said right before it might be even more frightening—and it's just one of several authoritarian messages coming from Trump and his comrades.
BREAKING: Unbelievable. AOC EXPOSES the Trump Administration for ending legal status in the US and MAKING people undocumented - then having the audacity to call them illegal when they were here documented. This is evil.
On the morning of Sept 20, 2023, russian occupiers abducted journalist Anastasiia Hlukhovska in Melitopol. A month later, Kremlin TV showed a video: masked men raided her home, searched her devices, handcuffed her and took her away.
Since then, no official info about her whereabouts. Red Cross confirmed she's in the russian captivity without any details. FSB claims they didn't detain her.
People say that on the same day, russians likely abducted nearly 40 people in Melitopol, throwing them into the torture chambers which they had opened in the abandoned factories.
As a journalist, Anastasiia wasn't even covering politics, just social issues and city life.
Occupation is not peace. It's savage terror.

Trump cutting Ukraine's air defenses is intended purely to help Putin inflict a level of civilian atrocities that he assumes will cause Ukraine to surrender.
I went to Paramount yesterday and this is what I saw. This ICE activity was never intended to make us safer. It was designed to terrorize us into accepting fascism. Documenting the truth is how we actually keep our communities safe.
9 million Europeans live under a brutal dictatorship—in the heart of Europe.
We can’t be forgotten.
We can’t be abandoned.
