@AGoldFan Scratching Nikishin for Mike Reilly is a pretty big deal. It signals rod feels very differently than canes fans about the player Nikishin is and can be.
Pretty foolish to act like that’s not the case.
@JustinCToscano Not sure writers around the league understand how much (non-Dodger) fans don’t like the way the structure of the league feels right now.
Feels like dodgers (plus NY teams maybe) are competing for the best players and the rest of the league competes for the rest.
@VPasquantino I’m not sure a salary cap is the answer either, but I think players should think hard about how much the non-Dodgers fan hates the way the league is structured now. Feels like the dodgers (plus maybe a team or 2) get what they want and the rest of the league fights for the rest.
@FutureCanes Am curious to what you liked in the first couple…
I think we’ve seen the last of him for a while. He isn’t ready for the league yet. Looks like we let someone’s younger brother play to be nice.
@_anthonynash@joonlee Everyone knew he was going to the dodgers (except for the blue jays sadly). Why else would there be a bidding war for Soto and not Shohei.
I promise you it’s not because the NY teams didn’t want him, it’s because he was always going to the dodgers. That’s why I’m annoyed.
@_anthonynash@joonlee You think the Yankees and Mets both offered Juan Soto 700 million and wouldn’t give ohtani more than 460? Is what I’m saying making sense now?
@_anthonynash@joonlee No he’s not on the dodgers books for 2 million. He’s on there for 46 million (at least as I understand it).
The point is that’s still way less than he could have gotten as the best player of all time and he did a disservice to other players because he wanted to sign for LAD.
