There is All India Services fr IAS IPS IFoS & IRS so, why not IJS & promotion on seniority basis.Yes separation of Judiciary is important, it can be achieved through separate commission fr appointment. If this happen then judges also not worry abt to be in executives' good books.

Instead of the Collegium recommending/choosing judges, in a democratic nation it is the citizens that should choose judges via a proper electoral process.

SC is not above the People of India that makes up the Constitution; hence judiciary MUST be made accountable to the people!
