Doesn’t take Freud to realize I’m trying to save the guy I was 10 years ago.
Kicked out of school 3 months after the housing crises melted down.
Most of my life I’ve worked 2-3 jobs simultaneously just to not make ends meet. When I go home, what I’m the best at in my own life counts for nothing (video games).
Working in retail and food service on the wrong side of 30 can feel like the seventh circle of hell if you haven’t developed the tools to dig yourself out.
Most of us get lost in this digital world where we find success, because why not live where you’re validated, right?
I had the realization that though my story is tragic, it’s not unique in the slightest. Turns out I was putting words to a very big shared problem/feeling.
I then started thinking about creating the “Google of gaming jobs”.
What if you could make money doing what you love, and even further, what if you didn’t live a diminished life because of it?
What would that look like?
@George_WCFC_WHU@ThirstyMooseTap@untappd Try to pace yourself with the craft beers btw. Those are way stronger (on avg) than ales. Apologies if you already knew that, just want you having a good time. 🤜🤛
@yu_megane_tabi You’re going to find that most of what you thought you knew about anywhere you haven’t been - is incorrect
Sorry if that’s a translation nightmare
@yjtravellife Texas roadhouse was good food 30 years ago. Now it’s a generic medium-end chain restaurant that’s interchangeable with all the other brands that look exactly like it. It’s not that the food got worse, the choices simply skyrocketed.
@tanpukunokami The forests in America are stunning! I recommend a trip to Portland Oregon, Asheville North Carolina, or Whitefish Montana. Everyone you meet on trails are incredibly friendly and will restore your faith in humanity if you’re feeling down.
