Absolutely fucking devastating. The screams outside Al Shifa hospital as Israel assassinates Aljazeera reporter Anas al Sharif. We will never forgive western journalists who remained silent as they murder our colleagues in Gaza.
This is wild. Republicans have inserted language into the budget reconciliation bill that would ban states from regulating AI in any capacity for 10 years.

To be clear, this is a clear violation of the First Amendment. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it. Green card holders - permanent residents - have many of the same constitutionally protected rights as citizens, like 1A. There is nothing showing “material support” for a U.S.-designated “terrorist group”, so it’s all about his protest. Not a single crime committed or alleged except Mahmoud Khalil’s speech.
Also, only immigration judges can revoke green cards.
If they can disappear permanent residents, they can disappear citizens too, and it won’t stop at protesters. They’re using the issue of Palestine as a test run because they know democratic leadership will be slow to respond, allowing them to normalize abducting whoever they want
Kidnapping an activist and jailing him in the middle of the night is a brazen act of authoritarianism.
Punishing dissent by revoking legal status is a dangerous precedent to set.
Deeply moving to watch our Palestinian colleagues reporting without helmets & flak jackets. More than 200 journalists/media workers have been killed in a systematic campaign while most Western journalists remained silent. The whole world owes these journalists a significant debt.
The House tomorrow plans to ban the U.S. govt from citing the Ministry of Health in Gaza’s casualty figures.
Instead of working to end the genocide, Congress will instead do this.
According to Palestinian health workers and journalists, the Israelis seem to be using new weapons that *vaporize* any human body within a few hundred meters in North Gaza.
Gaza has long been used as a laboratory for new weapons - the Israelis test weapons on Palestinians and then there is a spike in global demand for those weapons.
🚨 BREAKING: The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant over war crimes in Gaza, including targeting civilians and using starvation as a weapon.
It’s natural to get squeamish around something unpleasant, but over a year of genocide it’s become clear that many people prefer to just stomach it to feel better about themselves. What’s “caustic” is the insistence that continuing coverage of Gaza should be made appetizing too.
Someone recently said that while they enjoy my writing & perspectives, they found my approach “caustic” -specifically that I call Israeli society ‘rotten’.
Reading the details -again- of the Sde Teiman torture camp reminds me how ‘rotten’ is, in fact, too polite a word to ascribe to Israel.
Two aid trucks entered the starvation zone in northern Gaza for the first time in a month and a half, reaching a school-turned-shelter. Israeli soldiers prevented Gazans from reaching the food then set the shelter on fire, burning the aid down with it.

The last project @SanaSaeed and I worked on before leaving AJ+, The Dissidents, had its first episode drop today. Please take a moment to listen to and consider the poignant and powerful words of @AnnelleSheline They still resonate with me to this day. https://t.co/h9lW1KBoH3
