The case being “so he's NOT disabled at all!” Instead of, what the definition of disability is, and in government that varies based on the program.

It’s about whether society is willing to bear the costs of the values it professes. By rejecting eugenics, society must create conditions where disabled people can actually live with dignity.

@acnewsitics @feelsdesperate THANK YOU bc VA disability is percentage-based (0–100%) and rates how severe service-connected conditions are or compound. SSDI is all-or-nothing: you must prove you can’t do “substantial gainful activity” (SGA) in any job in the economy.

@danielpartjones @UnseriousDude_ @feelsdesperate @TwiztedFister @Derridazs @acnewsitics There is such a HUGE difference between how one qualifies for Social Security Disability Insurance (which IS work based) & the VA has a whole calculus into how they make those determinations and it is NOT the same. My dad was a disabled vet. Thank you for your service, Daniel.

Because apparently you have to be Stephen Hawking to be 100% disabled when you’ve never “put your life in another man's hands, ask him to put his life in yours?” (Ik Nicholson is the villain in the move but such a good quote)
