@mrstooth Love to have been there. I'm reading the book atm. it says many things that need to be said and shared and makes this old lag and life long closet Lundy more hopeful for the future of this place. GRMA Claire to and to all sharing the journey.
An Extinction Rebellion protest has taken place in Belfast city centre today. Red paint, fake bank notes, and posters have been placed at the bank, which has been forced to close for the day @BelfastLive
@C_Fitz_@Alexandra3C congratulations Alexandra! So good to see social policy at UU flourishing and finding a permanent place for you. No better person.
@simonwood I worked very briefly with Marilyn and Dave in, I think, 1974 on an ill-fated community publishing venture. Our paths never crossed since, but I still remember her enthusiasm and care at the time. A wonderful person. So sad she died so young.
@IACESInfo Her passing passed me by, as it were. She was an external examiner for my PhD and passed it without revision and said the nicest possible things while doing so. My supervisor was so impressed he gave me a copy of her report. I'm biased for sure, but a great and pioneering scholar
I’m on strike. I don’t want to be. But the climate for new academics is appalling & our reliance on casual staff is increasing. Then the pensions… which is an embarrassment. @ucu
@NTDirectorNI@NationalTrustNI Great to bump into you at Florence court yesterday! Good that you were celebrating the volunteers. The NT wouldn't be the same without them and we wouldn't be the same without the NT.
sorry to hear of Terry O'Keefe's passing. Fond memories of grappling with Heidegger's philosophy in his office on the 9th floor of the Tower at what was then NUU in Coleraine way back. Meeting him again 20 years later when I joined the staff of UU. He was good craic. RIP
